6 Lets study: indefinite articles: A and AN

Indefinite articles are used to describe something that doesnt regard ideas of quantity. The indefinite articles dont have plural forms, they are used only in singular forms. The indefinite articles A and AN are the same for all genders.

We use A for words that start with consonants. Examples: a car, a boy, a cat, a woman, a man. The bus was painted by a woman. We use AN if the word starts with a vowel. Examples: an elephant, an apple, an american boy. He told me he had an apple inside his backpack.
