TREND
TREND es un modelo producto de Modelling Toolkit (www.toolkit.net.au/trend). TREND esta diseado para facilitar tests estadisticos de tendencias, cambio y aletoriedad en series hidrologicas y otras series de tiempo.
TREND tiene 12 tests estadisticos basados en la WMO/UNESCO Expert Workshop en Tendencia/Cambio Deteccion y el CRC para Catchment Hydrology publication Hydrological Recipes.
Tendencia/cambio en series de tiempo ambientales pueden ser causados por: Cambios climticos como resultado del incremento de las concentraciones de los gases de efecto invernadero. Cambio en el uso del suelo (urbanizacin, deforestacin, etc.) Cambio en practicas de manejo etc

Parametric tests also assume that the time series data and the errors (deviations from the trend) follow a particular distribution. Most parametric tests assume that the data are normally distributed. Parametric tests are useful as they also quantify the change in the data (e.g., change in mean or gradient of trend). Parametric tests are generally more powerful than non-parametric tests.
Non-parametric tests are generally distribution-free. They detect trend/change, but do not quantify the size of the trend/change. They are very useful because most hydrologic time series data are not normally distributed.

Importantes sugestiones
Debera tener una buena data y debera entender los datos (va anlisis exploratorio de datos). Debera entender los test estadsticos y sus supuestos. Un test estadstico provee evidencia no prueba. Significancia no es lo mismo que importancia ( p. e. un cambio puede ser detectado, pero el tamao puede ser bastante pequeo que no es importante en nuestro anlisis). Si H0 es rechazado, las razones de la tendencia/cambio deberan ser investigado.
