2014 Athena Scholarship Application

The South Bay Alumnae Panhellenic is delighted to announce scholarship opportunities of
$500 or more to undergraduate women who are members of National Panhellenic
Conference sororities. The South Bay Alumnae Panhellenic represents up to 26 National
Panhellenic Conference sororities in the Santa Clara Valley. We have been awarding
scholarships for over 30 years. The Athena Scholarship is designed to honor undergraduate
sorority women who can balance the responsibilities of sorority membership, support their
community, and achieve academic success.
To be eligible for this award, you must be an active member of any National Panhellenic
Conference sorority and a full time student at San Jose State University or Santa Clara
University. Scholarship applicants must attend their university full time in the fall of 2014.
South Bay Alumnae Panhellenic encourages all eligible students to submit applications.
Incomplete applications submitted will not be reviewed. All applicants should be prepared for
a potential phone interview after the application is submitted. Recommendation letters from
collegians and family members are not accepted.
Applications must include:
1. The Scholarship application completed electronically or in eligible handwriting.
2. A copy of your most recent transcript. An unofficial transcript is acceptable.
3. Two letters of recommendations:
one letter from a sorority Alumnae Advisory Committee (AAC) member
one letter from faculty, professor, administrator, professional, or employer

Scholarship recipients will be our guest at the South Bay Alumnae Panhellenic Athena
Luncheon on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Michaels Restaurant, at 2960 N. Shoreline Blvd.
Mountain View, CA 94043. At this luncheon, scholarship recipients will be recognized and
awarded the scholarships.
