REFLECTION - Teaching and Learning Process This semester, we are from class PPPR PET Pengajian Agama was assigned the English Proficiency for the English Language. Initially, We felt rather scare and nervous to learn that subject because we are not good in English. We try to face it. Fortunately, we got someone that are very concern and know indeed about our situation. She is Madam Noriza, our English lecturer. She is kind and very good in sharing and presenting the knowledge. Although she was never teach us before and we are not very close too but her attitude make us comfortable and easy to approach her if we want to ask something. When we finished our orientation week within one week, we start the teaching and learning process. We start our class with Madam Noriza by briefing about the syllabus throughout this first semester. Through this session, we know about the content in English Proficiency this semester. At least, we can do some preparation and find some materials before classes. Our interaction with Madam Noriza involve two periods every Thursday. Many activities we have done with her such as answering question, writing essay and do oral presentation individually. These activities will add our knowledge and make us more brave to use English Language in everyday conversation among the friend or even the lectures. The topics we have learnt were Teaching and Learning Plan, Adverb, Reading Comprehension for MUET, Simple, Compound and Complex Sentences, Verbs and Tenses, The Paragraph about An Introduction, Story on Diligence / English Sound System and Guide To Write A Basic Essay. So, in this

semester the syllabus emphasis more about the grammar and how to write the good essay. We gain many things that we never know before like the sound system and about the sentences type ( simple, compound and complex ). Although we are from PPPR PET Pengajian Agama but we like to learn English. Nowadays, English Language is very important. It is using anywhere widely. So,we use this good opportunity to add our knowledge in English Language during classes. Moreover, Madam Noriza are very concern and commitment lecturer. She will left some tasks to us if she wants to go any places. We always get many notes and exercises from her. She also very punctuality. She will be in the class and teaches confidently. We like her style and skill. She always give us motivations and encouragements in doing any works and tasks. So, we feel comfortable and easy to communicate with her. The other task that we get from her are writing essay entitled How should to be the future ? and do individu oral presentation. Even though the time rather constraint with KAGUM and BIG but we have done successfully. The last but not least, we must provide the folio that include all the materials and notes we got along this semester. The essay, the oral presentation and the folio will contribute 60 marks in English Proficiency assessment for this semester. So, we try to do the best to get the good result.

REFLECTION - School Based Experince As the student from PPPR PET, we have to do the task School Based Experience ( SBE ) at the primary school in 1 week. Firstly, we get some instructions about this task from lecturers. Lecturers from Jabatan Ilmu Pendidikan are responsible totally in this first School Based Experience. So, if we have any problem and misunderstand about this task, we will directly see them to ask about it clearly. Our SBE start at school on 18th March until 22nd March 2007. Majority of us like to do the SBE at primary school in our villages. Only a few from us did it at Kelantan in group. Actually we reluctant when we accept this task. We are not clear about it and never do this before. But, when we follow the two briefing sessions, we know how the program must be done. The lecturer give a guide book of SBE and check list to ensure this programme works successfully without any problem. First day at the school, I felt very nervous to see the headmaster, teachers and pupils. I cant imagine how I will manage that situation alone. In contrast, I try to control myself and try to communicate wisely. I need to be looked more matured and more confident to be respected with other people. After that, I sat in morning assembly on the stage before doing some observation around the school. After assembly, I do some observation and looking the school facilities like garden park, birds park and fish ponds. Besides that, I also interviewed the headmaster at the office. He talk more about the school background, cultural , good climate and community in the school.

The next day, I still do the same thing like interaction with Senior Assistants in school and walking around the school to find the information that can help us finish this folio. I also try to practice some Teaching and Learning Process in the class. So interesting and fascinating during that session. Then, the counselor need to plan many activities for their pupils. . For the example, camping at the jungle, motivation sessions, seminar and climbing the mountain These activities can build up their personality and leadership potential. In addition, these activities also can add their knowledge and give them new experience that can be use in their future life. Shortly, School Based Experience programme is a very good way for us to help in knows about the school culture or climate and preparation to be teacher soon. We get many things throughout that week. We can improve our social skills and involve in teaching in the classes. So, School Based Experience are very interesting and important for us.
