Norwalk, CT, September 21, 2013 -- The French and Spanish Pyrenees are a remote and rugged mountain area, a land full of legends and reported curing powers. The y represent one of the last remaining wilderness areas in Europe. The range alon g the border between France and Spain is not as high as the Alps but is nonethel ess dramatically beautiful and less developed than other areas. Similar to the w ay locals have moved freely across the mountain border for hundreds of years, hi king tours in this area also provide the opportunity to experience both sides of this beautiful area of dramatic cirques, quaint stone villages, mountain lakes, wild flowers and charming hotels. Bredeson Outdoor Adventures is pleased to announce a guided tour from August 25 - September 3, 2014, offering nine nights and ten days in the French and Spanish Pyrenees hiking some of the best trails in two National Parks. Participants wil l take in the famous Brche de Roland and the magnificent Ordesa Canyon, both of wh ich fall in an area registered by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. The guide is a Certified Mountain Leader, who has made this area his home for the past 20 yea rs and knows it inside and out. The Pyrenees Highlights trip combines the comfort of being able to relax for two to three nights in a row at most locations, with the high adventure that comes with a point-to-point tour where you arrive at the next destination on foot.
