Ultradur HR PBT

Hydrolysis Resistant (HR) grades

Ultradur HR PBT

When you need more, why settle for standard grades of PBT when now theres new Ultradur HR PBT ... a higher performing material providing resistance against hydrolysis and even, on select grades, against NaOH? This latest BASF breakthrough is specifically designed for applications that require mechanical property retention during exposure to high heat, humidity, and with some grades, chemical attack. Additionally, these new grades are designed to be laser weldable for easier component assembly, and have higher flow properties delivering measurable processing benefits over standard PBT grades. Now that theres more, why settle for less? Ultradur HR PBT For Higher Performance.

Reinforced Grades
B 2300 G6 HR B 4300 G6 HR Injection molding grade containing 30% glass fiber with high flow and hydrolysis resistance. Injection molding grade containing 30% glass fiber, exhibiting a good balance of properties and flow.

B 4043 G6 HR Injection molding grade containing 30% glass fiber with good impact resistance, good sodium B 4330 G6 HR hydroxide resistance and hydrolysis resistance. Injection molding grade containing 30% glass fiber with superior sodium hydroxide resistance, excellent impact resistance and hydrolysis resistance. Some Ultradur HR grades have been formulated to be sensitive to laser light and may be used in applications requiring laser-printing for part identification. Actual contrast levels and uniformity of laser- printed lines are dependent on variables such as type of laser used in the process, surface condition of the molded part, and part geometry. It is the responsibility of the user to determine the suitability of Ultradur HR for use in an application requiring laser-printing.

Developmental Grades

BASF is developing additional hydrolysis resistant materials in various glass content levels, including
unreinforced grades to meet the needs of specific application requirements.

Applications

Automotive actuators, Sensors, Electrical connectors, Electronic control unit (or module) housings in packaging locations where an application needs to retain its mechanical properties after exposure to high heat and humidity and /or stronger chemical resistance is required due to vehicular environments (for example salt and calcium chloride exposure). under the hood (engine periphery) fenders wheel wells doors front bumper area, etc.

Packaging locations can include:
