ATHE Level 6 Award in Leading Organisational Equality and Diversity

Duration: At your own pace (normally 2 months part-time home study) OVERVIEW Equality and Diversity are important concepts for any organisation. Not only has the Equality Act 2010 extended the scope of equality and diversity, but inspection, review, accreditation and awarding bodies have increased their scrutiny of education and training organisations, requiring them to develop and implement equality and diversity related policies and procedures. In the public sector, the standard is higher than the private sector, with inspection bodies looking at the impact of equality and diversity policies and procedures. Meanwhile, in the private sector, there is a business case for promoting and actively implementing equality and diversity in a proactive manner. For large organisations, this tends to complement and enhance corporate social responsibility, while for small and medium size businesses its proactive promotion should increase the likelihood of engaging with a wider socio economic and culturally diverse client and customer base. The Level 6 Award in Leading Organisational Equality and Diversity is assignment based and encourages you to explore your own organisation or an organisation you are familiar with and its equality and diversity practices and how to improve or enhance them. Level 6 is at the same academic level as the final year of an undergraduate degree. The awarding body is ATHE, which is nationally recognised and regulated by Ofqual.
