The pre-engineered Trident system is working in hundreds of water plants across the world, treating surface waters with a wide range of influent conditions utilizing a variety of treatment solutions. The combination of the Adsorption Clarifier and Mixed Media filter delivers excellent finished water with predictable, cost-effective results. The Trident system can handle a wide range of applications: 75-95% removal of the raw water turbidity Finished drinking water with turbidity levels of 0.1 to 0.3 NTU Removal of iron and manganese Giardia and Cryptosporidium removal Colour removal Cost-effective water treatment Cost-effective boiler water pretreatment and process water treatment

sing an immediate expansion and scouring of the adsorption media. Raw water combined with air enters the Clarifier, and the accumulated solids are flushed to waste. After the given time period, the system returns to the clarification mode. From the Adsorption ClarifierTM, flow passes through the Mixed Media filtration chamber. The Mixed Media filtration technology uses progressively finer media from top to bottom and as such creates superior quality finished water. After the filtration, the flow is collected by the MultiblockTM underdrain, which allows filters to run at up to 30% higher flow rates, providing increased plant capacity.
The MultiblockTM underdrain.

In the first stage of treatment, chemically dosed raw water enters the Adsorption ClarifierTM, which contains granular, buoyant media. Contactt flocculation and clarification occur as the coagulated particles move through the bed of adsorption media and are retained. The process is enhanced by repeated contact with previously trapped solids. The Adsorption Clarifier includes some of the benefits of solids contact clarifiers without being limited by solids inventory, overflow rates or upsets. The Adsorption Clarifier is cleaned by injecting air into the bottom of the clarifier. The air/water mixture reduces the adsorption media buoyancy, cau-

Even under extreme spike loading, the combination of the Adsorption Clarification and Mixed Media filtration contributes to resist breakthrough by Cryptosporidum and Giardia and provides a consistent high quality effluent.
