Before the practice, do the basic check. ( Engine oil, Coo/ant, etc. )
A. Diagnostic function
Disconnect the following connectors when the engine is during idle speed,
and inspect the r engine check lamp J that is on or off.
1. Intake Air Temperature Sensor: '<--
2. Variable Valve Timing Control Valve-intelligent (WT-i ): ') q
3. Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF Sensor) : 31
a. engine check lamp is on
b. engine check lamp is off
B. Read DTCs
1. Turn off the ignition switch.
2. Use the SST ( jumper) to connect the terminal TC and CG of DLC3 0
3. Turn on the ignition switch.
4. Read DTCs, and write them down.

C. Erase DTCs
1. Turn off the ignition switch.
2. Remove the SST ( jumper ).
3. Remove the EFI FUSE or disconnect the negative cable of battery for
more than 10 seconds.

a. engine check lamp is on
b. engine check lamp is off
B. Read DTCs
1. Turn off the ignition switch.
2. Use the SST ( jumper) to connect the wire ( Green - White) and the
wire ( Brown) of service connector.
3. Turn on the ignition switch.
4. Read DTCs, and write them down.

1. Coolant Temperature Sensor (CrS) : __ \ 1::, __
2. Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAF Sensor) :

3. Intake Air Temperature Sensor ( IAT Sensor): A; \
a. engine check lamp is on
b. engine check lamp is off
B. Read DTCs
1. Turn on the ignition switch.
2. Use flat screw driver to rotate the test mode selector on the ECM
clockwise to the end.
3.Wait for more than 2 seconds.
4. Use flat screw driver rotate the test mode selector on the ECM
counterclockwise to the end.
5. Read DTCs, and write them down.

C. Erase DTCs
1. Turn on the ignition switch. Use a flat screw driver to rotate the test
mode selector on the ECM clockwise to the end.
2. Rotate the test mode selector on the ECM counterclockwise to the
end.
3. If DTCs have been erased, the check lamp will flash code 55 . (i.e. it's
the normal situation.)
