SECTION 071400 FLUID APPLIED WATERPROOFING ___________________________________________________________________________ D. E. 3.2 Verify items which penetrate surfaces to receive waterproofing are securely installed. Verify substrate surface slopes to drain for horizontal waterproofing applications.

PREPARATION A. B. C. D. Protect adjacent surfaces not designated to receive waterproofing. Clean and prepare surfaces to receive waterproofing. Do not apply waterproofing to surfaces unacceptable to manufacturer or applicator. Seal cracks and joints with sealant materials using depth to width ratio as recommended by sealant manufacturer.

3.3

INSTALLATION A. B. C. D. E. F. G. Apply surface conditioner at a rate recommended by manufacturer. Apply 300mm wide strip of joint over cracks, non-working joints. Apply waterproofing material. Apply and spread waterproofing material. Apply extra thickness of waterproofing material at corners, intersections, angles, and over joints. Seal items protruding to or penetrating through membrane and install Counterflashing membrane material. Extend waterproofing material and flexible flashing into drain clamp flange, apply adequate coating of liquid membrane to assure clamp ring seal.
