Design and Implementation of CAN-USB Converter Based on ARM7 Serial Protocol API

Controller Area Network (CAN) is a serial communication standard that supports distributed real-time control with a very high level of security. CAN provides multimaster capabilities, and is particularly suited to networking "intelligent" devices as well as sensors and actuators within a system or sub-system. CAN bus devices are compatible with nearly every PCI board. However, PCI boards are not compatible with notebook computers. Thus, this paper proposes a design of a CAN-USB convertor, allowing the USB port to be used for the control of CAN devices. The ARM7 CPU provides two CAN ports and two USB ports, thus being selected as an implementation target.

Design of remote intelligent home system based on ZigBee and GPRS technology
In this paper, based on ZigBee technology and GPRS a wireless remote and detecting system for smart home is developed which realized the detecting of the home equipment and the state of home environment. The system consists of the host control centre and several sub function modules and software. The host control system includes MC39i module, CC2430 module and STC12C5410 MCU control center. The several sub function modules consists of the data acquisition module and CC2430 modules.

Accident detection and reporting system using GPS, GPRS and GSM technology
Speed is one of the basic reasons for vehicle accident. Many lives could have been saved if emergency service could get accident information and reach in time. Nowadays, GPS has become an integral part of a vehicle system. This paper proposes to utilize the capability of a GPS receiver to monitor speed of a vehicle and detect accident basing on monitored speed and send accident location to an Alert Service Center. The GPS will monitor speed of a vehicle and compare with the previous speed in every second through a Microcontroller Unit. Whenever the speed will be below the specified speed, it will assume that an accident has occurred. The system will then send the accident location acquired from the GPS along with the time and the speed by utilizing the GSM network. This will help to reach the rescue service in time and save the valuable human life.

Android-based universal vehicle diagnostic and tracking system

This system aims to provide a low-cost means of monitoring a vehicle's performance and tracking by communicating the obtained data to a mobile device via Bluetooth. Then the results can be viewed by the user to monitor fuel consumption and other vital vehicle electromechanical parameters. Data can also be sent to the vehicle's maintenance department which may be used to detect and predict faults in the vehicle. This is done by collecting live readings from the engine control unit (ECU) utilizing the vehicle's built in onboard diagnostics system (OBD). An electronic hardware unit is built to carry-out the interface between the vehicle's OBD system and a Bluetooth module, which in part communicates with an Android-based mobile device. The mobile device is capable of transmitting data to a server using cellular internet connection.

Automatic Ambulance Rescue System

Traffic congestion and tidal flow management were recognized as major problems in modern urban areas, which have caused much thwarting for the ambulance. Moreover road accidents in the city have been incessant and to bar the loss of life due to the accidents is even more crucial. To implement this we introduce a scheme called AARS (Automatic ambulance rescue system). The main theme behind this scheme is to provide a smooth flow for the ambulance to reach the hospitals in time and thus minifying the expiration. The idea behind this scheme is to implement a ITS which would control mechanically the traffic lights in the path of the ambulance. The ambulance is controlled by the central unit which furnishes the most scant route to the ambulance and also controls the traffic light according to the ambulance location and thus reaching the hospital safely. The server also determines the location of the accident spot through the sensor systems in the vehicle which encountered the accident and thus the server walks through the ambulance to the spot. This scheme is fully automated, thus it finds the accident spot, controls the traffic lights, helping to reach the hospital in time.

Bus Monitoring System Based on ZigBee and GPRS

Presently, public traffic system mainly depends on driver's manual operation, which will inevitably encounter many problems such as punctuality of the bus's arrival on bus station. Paper proposes an supervisory system based on GPRS and ZigBee technology, to improve the operation efficiency of bus monitoring system and realize intelligent transportation system. Paper introduces the bus monitoring system from the aspect of both hardware design and software design. System takes it into accounts for the respective advantages and disadvantages of GPRS and ZigBee, and designs a feasible solution successfully, of practically significant.
