. Background of the Study Second section of the chapter 1. To present the backgrounder of the study. Presented in two types: a. History Background contains history b. Contextual Background contains issues 3. Theoretical Framework presents the theories which are related to the problem/study. Establish a cause and effect relationship between variables with the purpose of explaining and predicting phenomena. 4. Conceptual Framework presents the researchers own view of the study. 5. Statement of the Problem/Objectives this is the most critical part in the first chapter of the thesis proposal. The researcher poses a general objective or a general statement of problem which he aims to achieve or answer respectively. Example: The General Statement of the Problem for this study is What is the assessment rating of KHICAI according to faculty and students of Ricky Reyes Learning Institute? More specifically, this study shall answer the following questions: 1. What is the assessment rating given by the faculty on the KHICAI software in terms of: 1.1 Accuracy 1.2 User Friendliness 1.3 Completeness 1.4 Functionality 2. What is the assessment rating given by the students on the KHICAI software in terms of: 2.1 User Friendliness 2.2 Completeness 2.3 Functionality 3. What are the problems encountered in the implementation of the system? 4. Is there a significant difference in the assessment ratings given by faculty and students on the KHICAI in terms of the above mentioned parameters? 6. Hypothesis/ses the researcher poses intelligent speculations about the variables of the study. It is the tentative explanation of the study. 7. Assumptions optional part of Chapter 1. Presents facts to the research, which are normally taken forgranted. 8. Significance of the study presents the value or worth of the study, target beneficiaries.

Example: Findings of this study will help the school officials decide whether or not to invest in the new technology ICAI on Chemistry. 9. Scope and Limitation of Study The researcher states in this section the coverage of the study. Includes the details about the development of the software. Includes the delimitation or the so called describe limitation. 10. Definition of Terms needs to define ambiguous terms, technical terms. a. Conceptual comes from dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc. (ex. Technical terms) b. Operational comes from the researcher himself. (ex. Ambiguous terms)
