Autobiography

I, the undersigned, Mihail Chironda, was born on November 20 th, 1985, in Caracui village, Hincesti district, citizen of the Republic of Moldova, marital status married. Between 1992-2001 I studied at the middle school of my native village. During these years of study I actively participated in the field works at the kolkhoz Miciurin, performing its activity on the territory of village (harvest, packing of vegetables and grapes in crates), a kolkhoz which was dissolved later. From 2001 to 2004 I attended the high theoretical school Mihail Sadoveanu in Hincesti district, being awarded the diploma of bachelors degree. After that, in 2004, I was registered at the Technical University of Moldova, Faculty of Engineering and Management in Machinery Constructions, which I graduated from in 2008. Immediately after graduating from the University, I left for a period of 2 months in the USA, by the help of Work and Travel Program. Afterwards, I came back to my native village, and with the money earned and with the help of my parents, I built a greenhouse, already being used to the work in agriculture as I was actively involved in the household of my parents who also were growing vegetables in greenhouse (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers). Getting married in 2010, I started a business with my wife, who is a co-worker of a NonGovernmental Organization, Alliance for Cooperation in Agriculture, whose main activity is to support the small business entrepreneurs willing to perform an activity in the field of agricultural production. We grow tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers in the greenhouses. It is a complex and longterm process, starting in winter in well and enough heated greenhouses by seeding in crates, boxes, then pricking out in packs, next following the pricking out of harvest, treatment of crops and harvest process. We grow beans, corn and sunflowers in the field. The sale of vegetables is done on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. As mentioned here above, I am married. My wife helps me now with the work in the household. In my turn, I also work at JSC Matcon-Motricola as district manager, having enough time for the basic activity agriculture. I have applied for this exchange program in the USA in order to acquire new knowledge in the field of modern technologies in agriculture and to apply thereof in my own activity in order to develop my business.
