Induction set ( 5 minutes)

Greeting and introduction for the lesson.

1. Teacher greets the students and shows concern about their well-being 2. Theacher shows the students a picture of a Humpty Dumpty and asks them what do they know about it. 3. Teacher brainstorms the pictures together with the class.

Development 1 (10 minutes)

Generate ideas from the word of giving direction

1. Teacher writes the word of Giving directions on the white board and get students to generate any other words that relate to the word given. 2. Teacher praise the students who have confident to give a try and brainstorms the word together with the students. 3. Teacher distributes notes to the students. 4. Teacher teaches the students how to understand and read map. 5. Teacher explains on vocabulary and sentences involve in giving direction.

Development 2 (10 minutes)

Activity 1

1. Teacher start with first activity. 2. Teacher shows a map on Power Point Slide. 3. Teacher prepare a set of questions and asks two student to come forward. 4. One students go up to the map and act like she/he is blindly following driving instructions. 5. Another student give him/her the directions from their starting point to their desired destination. 6. Teacher calls another pair of students come forward and answer another question. 7. Teacher comments on the activity and praises the students participation.

Development 4 (10 minutes)

Activity 2

1. Teacher gives each of the student a piece of paper. 2. Teacher asks the students to draw a map/route from their house to the school. 3. Teacher call a few student to show the class their drawing and give direction based on the drawing. 4. Teacher comments on the activity and praises the students participation.

Your friends brother will be sending all of you there. Give him the direction from your housing area to the cinema. 3. You are at the park. Give direction to your brother who is at the burger bar to fetch you. 4. Your new neighbour was lost and now is at the college. He called you for help. Through the phone, give him direction to return at your housing area. 5. Your friends were at the supermarket. They want to meet you at the burger bar. Give them direction to get there.
