NOTICE TO EMPLOYEES AND MEMBERS


POSTED PURSUANT TO A SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT APPROVED BY A REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF THE NATIONAL LABOR RELATIONS BOARD
AN AGENCY OF THE UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT

FEDERAL LAW GIVES YOU THE RIGHT TO: Form, join, or assist a union; Choose a representative to bargain with your employer on your behalf; Act together with other employees for your benefit and protection; Choose not to engage in any of these protected activities.

WE WILL NOT do anything to prevent you from exercising the above rights. Graphic Communications Conference of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Local 140-N (herein the Union) is the exclusive collective bargaining representative of all employees of Los Angeles Times Communications LLC, d/b/a The Los Angeles Times (herein the Employer) in the following unit: All full-time and regular part time presspersons, color specialists, ink mixers, pressroom operators, presspersons, apprentice presspersons, press maintenance specialists, roller specialists, reel room coordinators, pressroom utility persons and operations trainers employed by the Employer at its facilities located at 2000 East Eighth Street, Los Angeles, California; and 1375 Sunflower Street; excluding all other employees, professional employees, guards and supervisors as defined in the Act. WE WILL NOT threaten Beck objectors with discharge if they fail to pay the full union dues. WE WILL NOT charge any Beck objector for any amount of local dues without first providing a breakdown of chargeable versus non chargeable expenses. WE WILL NOT in any like or related manner restrain or coerce you in the exercise of your rights under Section 7 of the Act. WE WILL rescind the letter we sent out to Beck objectors in late March 2013 demanding that they pay full union dues ($60 per month) for February and March 2013 or face discharge. WE WILL provide you with financial disclosure of the local Union's chargeable versus nonchargeable expenses under Communications Workers v. Beck, 487 U.S. 735 (1988).
