AXE PARAMETERS ASSOCIATED WITH PAGING Parameter Setname Description Unit Default Valuein Alex Current Value PAGTIMEFRST1LA

GSM1APTC This parameter defines the time supervision for page response of the first paging attempt in one location area. After expiration of this timer the paging is repeated according to parameter PAGREP1LA or PAGREPCT1LA. SEC 4 7 PAGTIMEREP1LA GSM1APTC This parameter defines the time supervision for page response of repeated paging in one location area. After expiration of this timer no new paging repetition for this call is done. SEC 7 7 TIMNREAM GSM1APTC The AXE parameter determines the time supervision period between the sending of the PAGING message and successful assignment of traffic channel using the NotReachable_timer. SEC 12 16 PAGTIMEFRSTGLOB GSM1APTC This parameter defines the time supervision for page response of the first global paging attempt. After expiration of this timer the paging is repeated according to AXE parameter PAGREPGLOB. SEC 4 10 PAGTIMEREPGLOB GSM1APTC This parameter defines the time supervision for page response of the repeated global paging. After expiration of this timer no new paging repetition for this call is done. SEC 7 9 PAGTIMEREPLATA GSM1APTC This parameter defines the time supervision for page response of repeated LATA paging. After expiration of this timer no new paging repetition for this call is done. SEC 7 10 NNONGALERTM GSMMMSC The AXE parameter defines the number of reattempts for sending of ALERT REQUEST message (non-GPRS) in case no acknowledgment from Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) has been received before timer expiry.

2 2 NRESETINDM GSMMMSC The AXE parameter defines the number of reattempts for sending the RESET INDICATION message in case no response has been received from the concerned SGSN before timer expiry. 10 10 PAGREPGLOB GSMMMSC The AXE parameter defines repeating conditions for paging after unsuccessful global paging.Value 0 indicates that global paging is not repeated.Value 1 indicates that global paging is repeated once with IMSI. 0 1 PAGREP1LA GSMMMSC The AXE parameter defines repeating conditions for paging after unsuccessful paging in one particular location area. This parameter is only valid in case of mobile terminating calls when the AXE parameter PAGLATA = 0 and in case of mobile terminating short messages. Value 0 indicates that paging in one particular location area is not repeated. Value 1 indicates that paging in one particular location area is repeated once with either TMSI or IMSI.Value 2 indicates that paging in one particular location area is repeated once with IMSI.Value 3 indicates that paging is repeated once as global paging with IMSI. 2 2 SECPAGEPATH GSMMMSC The AXE parameter specifies whether the second paging request should be sent via the Gsinterface or over the A-interface in case the first paging request was sent via the Gs-interface. Alternatively, second paging may not be performed at all.Value 0 indicates that second paging is not performed.Value 1 indicates that the second paging request is sent via the Gs-interface. Value 2 indicates that the second paging request is sent over the A-interface. 1 1 TMSILAIMSC GSMMMSC The AXE parameter determines whether a TMSI is allocated for a mobile subscriber, every time the mobile subscriber moves to a new location area within the MSC/VLR, or only once when the mobile subscriber is registered in this MSC/VLR.The parameter is only valid if the AXE parameter TMSIPAR = 1 and the mobile telephony exchange property CIPHER = 1 or if the AXE parameter TMSIPAR = 2. For details, see Application Information "Mobile Telephony Data, Changeable Exchange Adaptation".Value 0 indicates that TMSI is allocated only once.Value 1 indicates that TMSI is allocated every time the mobile subscriber moves to a new location area within the MSC/VLR, that is, at every change of Location Area Identity (LAI). 0 1 TMSIPAR GSMMMSC The AXE parameter determines whether TMSI is allocated on all the connections, not at all, or only for encrypted connections (for Gs-interface it is assumed that a connection is encrypted if ciphering is activated in the MSC/VLR server). Value 0 indicates that TMSI is not allocated.Value 1 indicates that TMSI is allocated only for encrypted connections. Value 2 indicates that TMSI is allocated on all the connections. 0 2

PAGREPGLOB GSMMMSC The AXE parameter defines repeating conditions for paging after unsuccessful global paging.Value 0 indicates that global paging is not repeated.Value 1 indicates that global paging is repeated once with IMSI. 2 2 PFCFUNCTION GSMMMSC The AXE parameter determines whether the Paging Flow Control function is activated or not.Value 0 indicates that Paging Flow Control is not activated.Value 1 indicates that Paging Flow Control is activated. 0 0 PAGING PARAMETERS FOR Global Equal Access in MSC/VLR Server and GMSC Server CTRESTLATA GSMMMSC The AXE parameter determines whether mobile-terminating calls should be restricted to the call delivery Local Access and Transport Area (LATA).The parameter is only valid if mobile telephony exchange property LATAUSED = 1. For details see Application Information "Mobile Telephony Data, Changeable Exchange Adaptation".The AXE parameter is applicable to ANSIGSM.Value 0 indicates the call set-up independent of the call delivery LATA. Value 1 indicates the call set-up only in the call delivery LATA. 1 1 PAGLATA GSMMMSC The AXE parameter indicates whether the non-LATA related or LATA-related paging method is used. The parameter is only valid in case of mobile-terminating calls when mobile telephony exchange property LATAUSED = 1. For details, see Application Information "Mobile Telephony Data, Changeable Exchange Adaptation".The AXE parameter is applicable to ANSI-GSM.The availability of this AXE parameter depends on commercial agreements. Value 0 indicates that LATA paging is not usedValue 1 indicates that LATA paging is used. 0 0 PAGREPCT1LA GSMMMSC The AXE parameter defines repeating conditions for paging after unsuccessful paging in a location area. This parameter is only valid in case of mobile-terminating calls when the AXE parameter PAGLATA = 1.The AXE parameter is applicable to ANSI-GSM.Value 0 indicates that paging in a location area is not repeated.Value 1 indicates that paging in a location area is repeated with either TMSI or IMSI.Value 2 indicates that paging in a location area is repeated with IMSI. Value 3 indicates that paging is repeated as call delivery LATA paging with IMSI. 2 2

SECPAGEPATH GSMMMSC The AXE parameter specifies whether the second paging request should be sent via the Gsinterface or over the A-interface in case the first paging request was sent via the Gs-interface.
