A Noun + verb collocations
This dictionary gives special attention to collocations. It includes a large number of boxes which give explanations and examples to help you understand the most important collocations. You will find many noun + verb collocations in the boxes located at the noun entry. Match the two parts of each sentence below. Use your dictionary to help you nd which noun in the lefthand column is usually used with a verb in the righthand column. B Adverb collocations
Each domino half has part of a sentence written on it. The sentences contain commonly occurring collocations with adverbs. Work with a partner and match up the two halves to make complete sentences. Use your dictionary to check if you are unsure. Common collocations are often shown in example sentences in entries for adverbs.

Task B
Adverb collocations are not as common as other collocations, but they are useful. Some common collocations can be found in the entries for the adverbs. Photocopy the dominoes sheet so that there is one for each pair of students. Ask students to cut out the domino halves and then divide them so that each student has 8 halves. Students then work together to match up the two halves of each sentence.
