Broccoli markets are very active overall with lighter plantings. Quality issues include hollow core. Supplies are arriving from Canada. Quality is good. Market conditions are stable. Cauliflower supplies are lighter and markets are active. Quality issues include discoloration and sizing. Markets are slightly higher from the Michigan and California areas. Quality is good. Quality is good. Harvesting is transitioning to Georgia. Michigan volumes on Cucumbers are winding down. Georgia has started with good volumes and quality; markets are easing. Georgia Eggplant volumes are good and improving daily. Quality is good. Eastern Beans are improving daily. Michigan is finished and the Tennessee/North Carolina areas have improved. Light volumes should begin from Georgia in the next week to 10 days. Watercress Persistent rains curtailed harvest, but supplies are expected to increase slowly. Cilantro (California) quality and supplies are tight due to weather. All other herbs are in good supply from South America. Iceberg markets are higher as supplies are lighter. Yields are lower and demand is up. Expect markets to remain active over the next couple of weeks. All lettuces are showing increased quality with stronger demand being met with ample supplies. Leaf markets are steady. Romaine markets are steady. Spring mix quality has been consistent. Supplies will improve with the quality as warmer weather spreads over the area this past week. Stable supplies of most mushrooms with good quality. Markets are trending higher on Reds and Yellow Onions. Supplies will tighten with more rain in Idaho and Oregon. Markets are stable with adequate volumes.

Peas Snow Peppers Chiles Peppers Green GT CA Canada, SC Markets are stable as more product is available. Quality is good. Quality is good with tighter supplies. Pepper markets have strengthened due to increased demand and low production from North Carolina and Canada. Georgia is expected to start in about 7-10 days. Expect markets to remain strong until Georgia starts in earnest. California Colored Pepper markets have strengthened again, and will continue to climb. The Idaho Potato market is starting to level out after the previous decline. The Red market is steady but high, with tight availability in B size. Burbank Potatoes are currently curing and will be available the first part of October. Red Potatoes have started in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Texas and markets are easing. Supplies are better as drier weather improves conditions. Quality issues affecting arrivals are due to summer weather. Green Squash volumes are good. Yellow Squash markets are lower due to the many growing areas producing at one time. Georgia will have the best quality for the next several weeks. Round, Grape and Cherry markets have eased. Roma markets have gained strength.

The Apple season looks to be a better year with yield and selection. New crop has started and quality is reported as good. Eastern crops have begun and are promising a 20% increase in volume over last season. Quality is good. Markets remain very active as Peru has wrapped up, very little Chilean fruit is being imported, and volumes decline in California. Mexicos production is down, and storms are predicted over the next three weeks. The supply has stabilized in the various growing regions. Quality is good. Markets are firm as supplies remain light. Product is from Guatemala. And Mexico is about 2 weeks out. Demand is higher and markets are strong. Fields will continue to transition from British Columbia to Argentina and Michigan next week.

Supplies are steady and quality is poor. We are seeing a wide range in markets and quality issues as fruit is weak. Keep your inventories tight and only order what is needed. We expect improvement when areas transition into Santa Maria, followed by Oxnard. Quality is good. Supplies are better on larger sizes. All sizes and grades are limited and markets are firm as demand exceeds supply. Quality is fair at best. Mexican Hurricanes interrupted volumes of imports, as we await the District 3 area to fully open up. Markets have temporally eased as supplies increased. However, with recent rains expect more stylar and quality issues than normal from the saturated fruit. Valencia Orange quality is fair. Markets are steady. Overall, Grape markets are stable, quality is good and demand is steady. Green Grapes show some amber. Quality and volume are fine. Cantaloupes markets are active. Large fruit is tight, but smaller sizes have been available. The transition into the Arizona area will be slow and a short term gap is anticipated. Larger Honeydews from the Westside are also short, but will ease as light volumes from Arizona have begun and sizes have been large. Supplies are tightening as product is harvested from Indiana. Quality has improved but past rains have limited the available product. New crop Anjou has arrived. California Bosc and Bartlett have arrived. Markets are stable with quality fruit. Supplies are consistent with good quality. Brix has been averaging 13-14% with average internal gold color.
