Content Using different tools with nonstandard units is not an accurate method of measurement. To produce a good play dough, we must use accurate measurements using standard tools. Accuracy has to do with measuring to the nearest value. Consistency has to do with repeated measures that give the same value. Accuracy and consistency are very important in taking measurements.

Teaching and Learning Activities 1. Teacher begins the lesson by showing pupils a play dough that is prepared by using the standard units of measurement. 2. Teacher asks questions: a. What is meant by accuracy? Answer: Accuracy has to do with measuring to the nearest value. b. What is meant by consistency? Restructuring of Ideas (20 minutes)

Activity 1: Make your own play dough Recipe 1/2 cup salt 1/2 cup water 1 cup flour food dye newspaper to cover the surface you're working on

1. Pupils are divided into six or seven in group. 2. Teacher distributes one cup, one copy of recipe, and ingredients to make dough to each group. 3. Teacher asks pupils to make their own dough in group according to the recipe that is given to them in 10 minutes. 4. Teacher reminds the pupils to be honest and accurate in recording data. 5. After that, teacher asks the pupils to compare the texture of their play dough with other group.

6. Teacher then compare her play dough with and accurate in recording the pupils.

Teacher asks pupils to take out their workbooks and go through the questions in the workbook together with the pupils. 2. Then, teacher asks the pupils to do the exercise inside the workbook. 3. Pupils are given 20 minutes to complete their work. 4. Teacher discusses the correct answers with the pupils if there is enough time.
