UB Engineering Limited commenced its operations in 1963 as a partnership firm (then known as Western India Erectors) started by two foresighted technocrats and went public in the year 1972. The Company came under the UB Umbrella in 1988. The sphere of UB Engineerings activities encompasses EPC Projects, Infrastructure, On-site fabrication of structures, Installation, Testing and Commissioning of Electrical and Mechanical Equipments, Piping etc. for large Industrial projects such as Power, Refineries, Steel, Cement, Fertilizer, Petrochemical and Desalination Projects. The Company enjoys pre-qualification credentials in Electrical Sub-station projects upto 400 KV in India. The Company also undertakes Overhauling and Maintenance of Operating Plants in varied Industries, both in India and Abroad.

Construction
Construction Division has been the main stay of the Organization since its inception. With the extensive and vast experience in Electro-Mechanical Installation work, the Company has been successful in bagging prestigious contracts as well as Repeat Orders from reputed Indian and International clients. From proposal engineering to post-commissioning start-up services - we handle it all. The EPC Division is structured into various functional Groups comprising of capable specialists in all branches of engineering, finance, contracts management.

Proposal Engineering.

The activity starts with a customer enquiry/tender and involves site visits, interaction with customer, back up quotations for bought out items culminating in a proposal with project execution bar charts, equipment deployment schedules drawn to customers requirements. Due care is taken that the selection of equipment ensures energy optimization and lowest operational costs with highest reliability.

The Project Management Group

After order finalization, the project is assigned to the project execution team which is steered by an experienced project chief who is a part of project management group. The project chief has overall project execution responsibility in terms of timely completion by controlling and monitoring costs. The Project Chief coordinates closely with the client and is accountable for complete project management.

Fully experienced in erecting plants running into millions of dollars in India and abroad, specialized multi-disciplinary teams have successfully adapted their skills to engineering and constructing smaller and medium size plants with speed and efficiency.

The Detailed Engineering Group

Before site work is commenced, the Detailed Engineering Group which comprises engineers from all fields viz. Civil, Structural, Instrumentation, Piping, Mechanical, Electrical, work out nitty, gritty of the BOQs related to their respective scope of work in the project, including schedules, interconnecting them to the overall schedule of the project.

The Project Planning Group

The project planning team vets the schedule, approves it and then hands over the BOQs to the procurement group to initiate material procurement activities. The project planning group monitors the project activities with reference to the overall schedule of the project.

The Procurement & Expediting Group

The Procurement & Expediting Group maintains an up-to-date information bank on vendors and suppliers of all major items and services required to execute a project on a turnkey basis. Bulk purchasing and long-term contracts, wherever possible, allow us to obtain the most competitive terms. Over the years we have built close relations with suppliers, which help us in expediting deliveries and operate on low inventory levels.

The Quality Assurance Group

The Quality Assurance Group maintains continuous control over material and workmanship quality and coordinates onsite/factory inspection with client or third party inspection agencies. Various quality standards such as API, ASTM, IS, BS, DIN as desired by the client are strictly followed.

On Site Facilities.

Modern construction tools and equipment, like electronic distance measuring instruments, concrete batching plants, cranes of various capacities, forklifts, etc. and a fleet of vehicles are at the disposal of the Division. A team of engineers, technicians, welders and a host of other professionals help mobilize a site within a matter of weeks, anywhere in the world.

UB Engineering Limited (UBEL) Electrical Division undertakes Turnkey business for HV & EHV SubStation upto 400 KV Class in India and abroad and associated transmission lines right from the conceptual stags to commissioning stage.

EPC Contracts for Switchyards, GIS, Substations up to 500kV Total Material Management with computerised programming. Procurement of Bulk Materials like Steel Structures, Transformers, Circuit Breaker and other Protection Equipments including control and monitoring panels. Civil and Construction works. On Site Fabrication and Erection of towers, transmission lines and switchyard equipments. Installation , testing & commissioning of Electrical Power Sub-sations. Rural Electrification Projects

O and M division
The O & M Division has serviced more than 30,000 MW of generating capacity since 1980 - an achievement that reflects on the consistency of its workmanship quality and widespread industrial acceptance. In 1980, UB Engineering identified a niche market i.e. overhauling and maintenance of power plants, closely allied to its main field of operations. Moving swiftly, the Overhauling & Maintenance Division was conceived - one of the first large size companies in India to do so. The Division received good response from the plant owners for refurbishing their units. Since then, the Division has broad based its operational base to include customers in Fertilizers, Petrochemicals, Desalination, Cement, Paper & Pulp and Sugar sectors. UB Engineering's strategy of servicing the existing market segments in more ways than one, has paid off handsomely as the Division has emerged as the acknowledged market leader in its chosen field. Rejuvenating industries A work force of highly competent engineers, skilled technicians and workmen form the O & M team. Supported by modern equipments, the Division handles complete overhaul and repairs to boilers, turbines, auxiliaries, generators, rotary machines, coal and ash handling equipments, pump stations, pipelines etc. The services also include fabricating / sourcing parts which need replacement, complete reassembly, testing and system integration.

Fabrication
UB Engineering Limited have been addressing the our customers requirements through site fabrication shops put up at various construction sites for handling all the fabrication and allied works involved for more than 30 years. With our vast experience in handling fabrication / erection work and the drive to provide quality and cost effective services to gratify the needs of our esteemed customers, a State-of-the art Heavy fabrication Facility has been put up at Durg, Chhattisgarh.

The UBEL Fabrication Division, strategically located at close proximity to some of the major steel producers in India, is a fully automated State-of-the art fabrication shop with highly sophisticated CNC machinery installed for structural steel fabrication with an annual production capacity of 20,000 MT
