RESEARCH EXPERIENCE In 2005-2006, I volunteered as an Ombudsman representative in a unique facility, which housed young and middle-aged adults with disabilities among the elderly population. In an attempt to examine the interpersonal relationships that existed between and among the three age groups, I designed and conducted an independent study that resulted in a thirty-one page paper entitled, How Does Age and Social Support Affect Quality of Life in a Nursing Home Setting? I learned later that the methodology utilized with the study population was questionable; therefore, the study was not accepted for publication.
