RACINE, Monday, September 30, 2013 Family Service of Racine, the Racine Civic Centre and AT&T Wisconsin announced today that they are teaming up to bring a series of culturally themed performances to the Racine area this fall. The first performance in the cultural series, sponsored by AT&T, will feature Black Violin, an American hip hop duo that comprises two classically trained string instrumentalists , Wil B Baptiste and Kevin Kev Marcus Sylvester. The group fuses classical and orchestral music with hip hop, exposing younger generations to classical music. We are very excited to partner with the Racine Civic Centre and AT&T to kick off this cultural series and bring Black Violin to perform in Racine. Individually and together, Black Violin has collaborated with P. Diddy, Kanye West, 50 Cent, Tom Petty, Aerosmith, Aretha Franklin and the Eagles. In January, Black Violin performed at the Presidential Inaugural Ball for President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama and 35,000 VIP guests. Since the group started 10 years ago, they have played hundreds of shows in 36 countries, including for U.S. troops in Iraq.
