Workers’ compensation treatment parameter amendments; Minn. Rules, parts 5221.6020 to 5221.8900
Subject matter The Department of Labor and Industry is considering adopting additional treatment parameters for
drugs commonly used to treat workers’ compensation injuries and long-term use of narcotic
analgesics for enduring, intractable pain. Other amendments are also being considered, including
updating definitions for traction technologies, electrical muscle stimulation and manual therapy
modalities. Other updates and technical corrections to existing parameters will also be considered.

NOTICE: The next meeting of the Medical Services Review Board, which is tentatively scheduled
for January 17, 2008, will include discussion of the draft rules on spinal cord stimulators and
intrathecal drug delivery systems (See below for more information on the next meeting of the
Medical Services Review Board).

proceeding; agency department’s medical consultant, is developing recommendations for the treatment parameters. The
