Dear Sir,

The Poor Condition of Residential

ing a visit to i\ urmission to Bmily Chan 46, Jalan Tan Cheng Ho

As a resident ofTaman Perdana, I am regretful to complain about the poor condition o, playground in my area. 2. The grass has not been cut for almost three months. The grass has grown so tall II unsafe for children to go to (he playground anymore as snakes or other dangerous anin may be nesting there. Besides, it invites mosquitoes and this has resulted in the resident being frequently bitten by mosquitoes. 3. The swings, slides and seesaws are rusty and are in serious need o f repainting. The metal railings on the slides have also worn out or rusted away, exposing jagged edges that pose a danger to children using them. 4. There are also insufficient dustbins at the playground and this has made the place a rubbish dump for litlerbugs. 5. 6. The poor drainage has also caused the playground to become soggy each time it rains. On behalf o f the residents, 1 suggest that the equipment be repaired and repainted, the grass be cut regularly and more dustbins be placed at the playground, 7.. Furthermore, I would also suggest that the relevant experts and engineers be sent to hope you w i l l look into our problems and give consideration to our suggestions. We thank you in advance.

Daily News 88 - 90, SS8/4 48000 Bandar Sun way Selangor Dear Sir, Kan Smoking in Public Places I am a concerned citizen who would like to express my views concerning smoking in public places. In my opinion, it should be banned. 2. Everyone agrees that smoking is bad for health. Smoking does not only affect the health of smokers, but it also adversely affects the health o f non-smokers alike. We, as innocent bystanders, are in a greater health risk as the smoke we, take in is not filtered. The worst victims are the children. Smoking has been blamed for cancer and heart diseases. I would like to propose that smoking be banned in all public places including restaurants and government offices, Restaurants should not even be allowed to have a section for diners who smoke. Make them totally smoke-free eateries. Government officers should also not smoke at government premises at all. The government should impose a total ban on smoking in all places where there are children, for example, the public playgrounds. Anyone caught smoking in these places should be fined. 23 JUNE 2009
