Aside from being a good band instructor, he is also the type of individual that others just enjoy having as part of the group. In the international school setting, schools generally like to hire couples but often find that one member of the team is substantially stronger than the other. Not so with Brian and Sandy, they are both exceptionally strong teachers. Bob Gross former Superintendent at SAS Mr. Hill stands approximately six feet and five inches tall and wears colorful Hawaiian shirts. He is one of the most creative and inspiring teachers I have ever had. 8th grade student What I find most endearing is that Brian engages every student with warmth, genuineness, and respect. They know that he cares about them and cares that they succeed. Doug Neihart SAS HS Deputy Principal Thanks for your talent, your patience, your unfailing good will, and your humor. I wish your mom could clone you. However, since she can't, I am glad Sean has the One and Only Mr. Hill for his music teacher. How lucky he is. Can you fail him so he can have you again next year? In my eighteen years as a principal I have met a handful of teachers who truly stand out in their love and dedication for their job. Brian is one of them. Paul D. Combs SAS MS Deputy Principal The impact Brian has had on Andy is hard to overstate. It is safe to say that Brian was Andys favorite teacher, hands down, during his entire time at SAS. And his influence as a person, a player and a leader has shaped Andy as an adult. In fact, Andy is striving for a career in music, in no small part to the wonderful time he spent with Brian. Jerry Szombathy Parent Outstanding, exemplary and dedicatedPrior to his arrival, students were learning the technical parts of playing an instrument. They were not learning to love what they were accomplishing. Joan Adams SAS MS Principal In the ten years I have worked with Brian I have found him to be a passionate educator, a caring colleague and an inquisitive learner. He has been an enthusiastic and creative soundboard for me. He has an innate need to continue his own education. In the years that I have known him he has acquired a masters degree and has brought new and innovative technological advances to our program. Nanette Devens SAS HS Chorale Director Brian has a magnetic charisma that naturally draws students, parents and colleagues to him. He has a warmth, humor, commitment, and energy that are off the charts. Schools need professionals like Brian that make a positive impact on students while making work a more enjoyable place for colleagues. Tico Oms SAS MS Deputy Principal
