Know basic economic concepts and be able to use the basic tools of economic analysis for 1 evaluating real life situations. 2 Understand and interpret current economic developments in the fields of growth, international trade, inflation, financial markets, unemployment, globalization, etc. Recognize the significance of life long learning and be able to use the learning skills they developed in this program in other areas of their life. Have sufficient mathematical, analytical and abstracting skills and apply these skills in economic discussions. Be able to compare and contrast the nature of Turkish economy with other economies in order to understand and explain its position in the global economy. Know the evolution of economic thought throughout history and the differences between current schools of thought. Have sufficient methodological, technical and computing skills for collecting, interpreting and processing economic data. Be able to formulate or think in terms of economic models to analyze decision making processes of economic units in financial, factor as well as goods and services markets.
