The Relationship between Malaysian Chinese Literature

and Modern Chinese Literature
JIN Jin
(Department of Chinese, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur 31900, Malaysia)
Abstract: The transmission and acceptation of Chinese literature dates back to the May 4th Movement, and even now
Malaysian Chinese Literature is absorbing and referring to Chinese modern literature (including mainland Chinese literature
and its branches in Taiwan and Hong Kong). By probing into the influence of new literature after the May 4th Movement,
the hardship of Malaysian Chinese literature and the new changes in Malaysian Chinese literature, we can find out the pat
terns of cultural exchange between China and Malaysia.
Key words: modern Chinese literature; migrating scholars; Jiao Feng; Malaysian Chinese literature; visiting scholars in Taiwan
