(3) Funeral Service for the Late Edith Williams

The East Jamaica Conference mourns the passing of Sis Edith Williams, mother of Pastors Leabert and Linton Williams and member of the Washington Gardens SDA Church who passed away on Thursday September 19, 2013. It is never easy for family members and friends to accept the passing of loved ones. We can only encourage the family not to mourn as those who have no hope but to look forward to the great resurrection morning when those who die in Christ will be raised in the first resurrection. The funeral service for the late Sis. Edith Williams will take place on October 6, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Kencot SDA Church. We invite the church to continue to pray for the Williams family during this time of bereavement.

Childrens Sabbath is a day set aside by churches all over the world for the purpose of spotlighting and affirming the children in our midst. It also draws attention to the need of children at risk in the world. Traditionally the North American Division celebrates this special day the first Sabbath in October. This year we ask you to end week of prayer with Childrens Sabbath; however if this date is not available to you, we encourage you to have a childrens Sabbath whenever you can. This day provides a great excuse to invite neighbours, friends, and inactive members to bring their children.
