State Standards
Learning Objective: Today, throughout this lesson, you will learn what high and low sounds are by pictures and sound files, which at the end you should be able to answer 2 quiz questions 100% accurately.
Standard 1.0 Singing Students will sing alone and with others, a varied repertoire of music. Learning Expectations The student will * 1.1 Develop skill in singing simple songs. * 1.2 Reproduce high and low pitches. Performance Indicators: Evidence Standard is Met The student is able to Level 1 * Sing repetitive, narrow-range songs alone and with others. * Echo a variety of sounds in different registers. What is a High Sound?


A high sound is a pitch that is very bright and loud.
On a piano, it is all the pitches within the right hand. These sounds include: Birds chirping, police siren, and a flute.

What is a Low Sound?


A low sound is a pitch that is dark and soft.
On piano, the low sounds are all in the left hand. These sounds include: cow, lion, or tuba. What low sounds are you familiar with hearing?

Ranges - High Sounds


High Sounds are pitches in the
treble clef. Instruments that play in the treble clef may include: flute, clarinet, oboe, violin, and many others that all play high sounds.

Ranges - Low Sounds


Low Sounds are pitches in the bass
clef. Instruments that play in the bass clef may include: tuba, trombone, string bass and many others within a band or orchestra setting.
