It offers pension fund administration, actuarial and risk services, investment operations and life assurance solutions. The Swan Group operates in the insurance sector through Swan Insurance Company Limited for general insurance and The Anglo-Mauritius Assurance Society Limited for long term insurance. The Anglo-Mauritius Assurance Society Limited was incorporated in 1951 and in listed on the Development and Enterprise Market of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. In 2012, The Anglo-Mauritius Assurance Society Limited posted gross premium of Rs 2,286M, a rise of 14% compared to Rs. 2,004M in 2011. Surplus for the year reached Rs. 2,094M, as opposed to Rs. 895m in 2011. Despite a difficult investment market, investment income grew by 13%, from Rs. 927m in 2011 to Rs. 1,051M in 2012. The Life Assurance Fund progressed from Rs. 20,515M in 2011 to Rs. 24,208M in 2012. Total assets of the company reached Rs. 25,429M in 2012, compared to Rs. 21,036M in 2011, up by 21%.
