In 2006, I earned my B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. With my recent completion of the post-baccalaureate program in elementary education at Nevada State College along with my love for working with children, I am fully dedicated and determined to contribute my knowledge and passion for teaching to CCSD. My resume is enclosed for your review, and I look forward to meeting with you in person. My rewarding student teaching experience at the high achieving and model school, C.T. Sewell Elementary, allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the fundamental tools, strategies, and philosophies needed in order to be an effective and nurturing teacher every day. Creating a positive and safe learning community conducive to the academic and personal growth of all students is essential to their success. Student teaching in an inclusive classroom gave me the positive experience of working with students with special needs and English language learners. I received stellar evaluations throughout my student teaching journey, and truly appreciated my interactions and time spent teaching the class. I also very much enjoyed participating in after school wide functions, extra-curricular activities, and fundraisers held at my cooperating school. Every students accomplishment, no matter how big or small, should be enthusiastically celebrated. I am ready to foster students curiosity, instill a love for life-long learning, and continuously be my students number one advocate to help them accomplish their goals and strive to reach their fullest potential. I feel prepared to begin my journey as an educator to help ensure students are ready by exit. My compassionate nature for inspiring young learners keeps me extremely motivated and confident that I will have a long and rewarding career as a teacher.
