Raquel Andueza
Born in Pamplona Spain- she begins her musical development at the age of six at Nios Cantores de Navarras choir. When she is eight years old, she starts her violin and solfeggio studies, and at the age of fourteen starts singing, all of them at Pamplonas Conservatorio Superior de Msica Pablo Sarasate. Thanks to a scholarship from Navarras Governement and the Corporation of London, she extends her studies at the Londoner Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where in 2000 she obtains the Bachelor of Music with Honours and receives the School Singing Prize as recognition of her academic development. She attends masterlessons from Emma Kirkby, Graham Johnson, David Mason, Nancy Argenta, Sarah Walker, etc. In 2000 she met Richard Levitt, who has been her master until the present times. She assiduously collaborates with several ensembles: Larpeggiata, El Concierto Espaol, Orquesta Barroca de Sevilla, Lyra Baroque Orchestra of Minneapolis, Al Ayre Espaol, La Real Cmara, More Hispano, Armoniosi Concerti, BRock, etc. Founder member of the vocal quintet La Trulla de Bozes, where she stays until 2003, she obtains with them in 2000 the first prize at the XXXVI Festival Van Vlaanderen in Bruges, as well as at the I Young Artist Presentation of the Festival Van Vlaanderen in Antwerp. In 2003 she becomes a member of the vocal quartet La Colombina, and in the same year she founds, together with the theorbo player Jess Fernndez, a duet specialized on the Italian music of the XVIIth Century. Since 2004 she sings in the group Orphnica Lyra, directed by Jos Miguel Moreno. She performs as soloist at the main festivals and halls of Europe (Paris, Madrid, Barcelona, Brussels, Utrecht, Bucarest, Vienna, Naples, London), and she makes her American debut in 2004 in Minneapolis. She has been conducted by William Christie, Fabio Biondi, Emilio Moreno, Jacques Ogg, Monica Huggett, Ernest Martnez-Izquierdo, Richard Egarr, Christian Curnyn, Eduardo Lpez-Banzo, Pablo Heras, Sir Colin Davis, Jordi Casas, etc. She has made recordings for French, Belgium, German, Swiss and Spanish radios, as well as for the labels Glossa, Verso, Harmonia Mundi and K617.
