Assuming that the student is the General Manager of PLDT, these are the staffing, communication, motivation and

leadership policies to be implemented and adopted. STAFFING POLICIES To achieve its goals, mission and vision; the PLDT Company gives stress to present and future workforce participants as one of its most valuable assets that contribute to the companys organizational success. Because of this, PLDT believes in hiring only the best and the brightest and giving them the opportunity to excel. In general, the following job-related criteria are set for the recruitment and selection of the companys human capital: MUST/ MUST BE:  A Bachelors degree holder related to the job applied for (e.g. Marketing grad for Product specialist positions)  A Passer of the Philippine Professional Commission board exams or any other recognized professional board (if profession requires e.g. accountants, engineers)  Speaks English proficiently  Have good written and oral communication skills  Have basic knowledge in computer programs PREFERABLY (JUST an advantage):  A Citizen of the Philippines (natural-born or naturalized)  With above average scholastic records  With related work experience on the specific job applied for  Multi-lingual The selection of an employee shall be decided upon following these processes: WRITTEN AND/OR ORAL COMPETENCY TEST/S These tests allow the HR to evaluate the ability and the writing and oral communication skills of the applicant. If this stage is passed, he/she will proceed to next stage. STRUCTURED AND BEHAVIORAL INTERVIEWS The structured interview will include situational, job knowledge, job sample simulation and worker requirements questions. Structured and behavioural interviews will allow HR to evaluate the applicants determination, behavior, performance and competency. WORK PROBATION AND TRAINING If passed the interviews, a month or less will be scheduled for the applicant to do actual work. His/her actual performance and competency will be measured and observed that will determine his/her admission.

COMMUNICATION Medium: MEDIA (TELEVISION) ADVERTISEMENT Product: Landline, PLDT myDSL watch pad, Mobile Landline Phone

A TV Ad will be aired on the top three leading television stations (based on rating). The following commercial shall have 25-second airing time. Frequency will be determined by the movement of sales during the first week of the commercial. First Scene (10 seconds): A girl in her sleeping clothes is stuck in boredom in her room this summer vacation. She decided to watch a movie using the PLDT myDSL watch pad. She saw a nice beach in that movie. She calls her friends and asks them to go to that beach. Second Scene (8 seconds): The girl is now with her friends in sexy summer wear. They want to invite their guy friends to join them but there is no cellular phone network signal. The other girls get annoyed but the girl (the one in the first scene) laughs about it. She gets her PLDT Landline mobile phone out and will tell the line, Not a problem, may PLDT! Third Scene (4 seconds): The girls are with the guys chatting. Buti na lang, may PLDT. Kasama mo at maasahan saan ka man at kahit kailan. Fourth Scene (3 seconds): PLDT logo appears and its slogan, Were change lives. MOTIVATION POLICIES In order to get the Companys human capital meet and pursue its target income and other goals, there must be enough motivation. Motivating employees shall be conformed to these two appropriate and applicable policies: MOTIVATION TRHOUGH REWARDS There will be compensation packages: (1) vacation leave with pay if able to meet the target; (2) gift certificates and discount cards if able to meet target; (3) appliance showcases if able to do better than the set goal (4) increase in salary if able to double expected output (5)piece rate incentivesthe incentive will be equal to 5% of the value of every 100 products and is doubled if sales target is doubled e.g. Php 500 for every 100 products sold and Php 2000 for every 200 products sold; (6) promotion if contributed 30% share in the total sales of the company (7) recognition every anniversary of the company with cash incentive e.g. Most Outstanding Employee, Best Performing Team, Most Innovative Team/Department of the Year MOTIVATION THROUGH QUALITY-OF-WORK-LIFE PROGRAMS The company will allow its employees choose their own schedule. They can choose from an 8hour/5-day schedule or a 10-hour/4-day schedule. They can also choose their own time of arrival and departure but this is only offered to the 8-hour/5-day schedule. The range will be: 7-4, 8-5and 9-6. Grace period of 15 minutes is also given. LEADERSHIP STYLE Leading is a matter of influencing, inspiring, motivating and guiding others to a uniform direction and a common purpose. As the general manager of PLDT, I have to lead my people to ensure that the companys goals and objectives are fulfilled. My leadership style will be DEMOCRATIC in nature. I will allow my subordinates to participate in the planning and decision processes. They are free to suggest and clear things with metwo-way flow of communication. But, my decisions and actions shall be superior over theirs and I shall take all responsibility. I will not allow that my authority and power be overruled, though. But over-all, I will be open for intellectual and professional teamwork.
