ABSTRACT

Online shopping portals

The objective of this study is to determine the factors which influence online behavior. The purpose also is to compare different online shopping portals available in India. We also want to find out which is the most preferred online shopping portal by customers on the basis of the factors that determine the usage of a particular online shopping portal. For this comparison we have selected four online shopping portals which offer similar product line. The four online shopping portals are Jabong.com, Snapdeal.com, Yebhi.com and E-Bay.com. Our objective also was to determine how satisfied the existing customers from their online shopping portals are. The research methodology used for this study is Applied methodology. The methodology used was collection of primary as well as secondary data. Primary data was collected in the form of questionnaire by visiting several corporate offices in Mumbai. Secondary data used was from internet. This project is based on quantitative research and not on qualitative research. Various variables such as nominal variables, ordinal variable, interval variables are used for the study. Sampling technique used for the study is convenience sampling of non probability sampling technique. The sample size considered for the survey is 150. The entire list that contains the sample unit is known as sample frame: in this case my sample frame was Mumbai region Various hypotheses are used for the analysis of the data obtained from the survey. Univariate, bivariate and multivariate all three types of research techniques are used in this project. Under Univariate frequencies, percentages are used.non parametric technique chi square is also used to analyze the dependence independence of the variables. Correlation and regression technique of bivariate type is also used for the analysis. Under Multivariate technique factor analysis is used to reduce the data used in the factors influencing the choice of a particular online shopping portal.
