ASTRONUATICS

ASTRONOMY

Astronautics is often referred to as astronomical engineering. It is the science and technology of space flight and is a field of aerospace engineering that deals with machinery designed to work beyond the Earth's atmosphere. ASTRONOMY - Astronomy is a natural science that is the study of celestial objects (such as moons, planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies), the physics, chemistry, mathematics, and evolution of such objects, and phenomena that originate outside the atmosphere of Earth, including supernovae explosions, gamma ray bursts, and cosmic background radiation

LICHEN: The mutualistic symbiotic association of a fungus with an alga or a cyanobacterium, or both. The fungal component of a lichen absorbs water and nutrients from the surroundings and provides a suitable environment for the alga or cyanobacterium.

HARDNESS

STREAK

VOLATGE: Electrical potential difference or tension

STEMS SECONDARY STRUCTURES Stolons above-ground horizontal stems

produce new plants where the nodes in the stem touch the ground

Rhizomes

underground, horizontal stems have long and thin stems or thick and fleshy stems

reproduces asexually= node of the stems has a bud have enlarged sections called tubers

Corms a short, thickened, underground, upright stem where food is stored

Stem Modifications

Root System Root Modifications

Tubers are produced underground from stems, as in the potato, or from roots, as in the dahlia. Tubers can grow into new plants.(Image RM)

BUD

A gemstone or gem (also called a precious or semi-precious stone, a fine gem, or jewel) is a piece of mineral, which, in cut and polished form, is used to make jewelry or other adornments.

ORION OR LOCAL ARM: OUR LOCAL ARM IS LOCATED BETWEEN THE CARINASAGITTARIUS ARM (TOWARD THE GALACTIC CENTER) AND THE PERSEUS ARM (TOWARD THE OUTSIDE UNIVERSE).

STATIC ELECTRICITY IS AN IMBALANCE OF ELECTRIC CHARGES WITHIN OR ON THE SURFACE OF A MATERIAL. THE CHARGE REMAINS UNTIL IT IS ABLE TO MOVE AWAY BY MEANS OF AN ELECTRIC CURRENT OR ELECTRICAL DISCHARGE.

GYRES ARE CAUSED BY THE CORIOLIS EFFECT; PLANETARY VORTICITY ALONG WITH HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL FRICTION, WHICH DETERMINE THE CIRCULATION PATTERNS FROM THE WIND CURL (TORQUE).[1] THE TERM GYRE CAN BE USED TO REFER TO ANY TYPE OF VORTEX IN THE AIR OR THE SEA, EVEN ONE THAT IS MAN-MADE, BUT IT IS MOST COMMONLY USED IN OCEANOGRAPHY TO REFER TO THE MAJOR OCEAN SYSTEMS 5 MAJOR GYRES ARE

AQUIFER AND GROUND WATER

Groundwater enters the water table when it seeps down through the soil and into a layer of saturation. A layer of saturation is defined as any area underground containing water under pressure of more than one atmosphere A saturation layer is only considered an aquifer if it can provide a useful amount of water to the surface through a well or spring. Aquifers contain groundwater in the same way lakes and rivers contain surface water. The gymnosperms are a group of seed-producing plants that includes conifers. The term "gymnosperm" comes from the Greek word gymnospermos (), meaning "naked seeds",
