FPSA Call for Coordinators and Subcommittees 2013-2014 IPSF Related Activities

IPSF is abbreviation of International Pharmaceutical Students Federation which is leading international advocacy for Pharmacy Students in the World. FPSA is abbreviation of Faculty of Pharmacy Students Association which is representing all pharmacy students at the University of Khartoum. Since 2009 FPSA was registered as member in IPSF and according to this we have a lot of activities related to the IPSF and we open a chance for more that 50 positions to be filled this year. So, dont miss the opportunity and getting involved with the FPSA Activates. Coordinators and Committees work under the FPSA Executive Committee and their work is more specific to certain activities. Coordinator positions have different busy times or seasons, but you must be reachable throughout your entire term. If you are interested in a particular position listed here, you should contact the relevant FPSA Executive Committee member (contact below) before the deadline for applications. Coordinators:
Clinical Skills Event Coordinator (CSE):The CSE Coordinator is responsible for multiple tasks throughout the year. The CSE Coordinator is required to have good communication skills, organization skills, and most importantly, clinical knowledge. The CSE Coordinator is responsible to be in contact with the PD committee starting at the beginning of the term to setup workshop time, rooms and logistics, invitation for suitable speakers for the workshop, arrange for winners certificates, and prizes. During the FPSA CSE competitions, the CSE Coordinator is responsible for all logistical matter whether the CSE Coordinator is physically present or not. The CSE Coordinator will also be responsible together with the Professional Development Committee, FPSA Cultural Office to create cases of CSE and to submit them for professional review. Furthermore, it is the duty of the CSE Coordinator to ensure that a structured CSE report and along the cases used be submitted to IPSF through FPSA Cp . .

Patient Counseling Event Coordinator (PCE):The PCE Coordinator is responsible for multiple tasks throughout the year. The PCE Coordinator is required to have good communication skills, organization skills, and most importantly, clinical knowledge. The PCE Coordinator is responsible to be in contact with the PD committee starting at the beginning of the term to setup workshop time, rooms and logistics, invitation for suitable speakers for the workshop, arrange for winners certificates, and prizes. During the FPSA PCE competitions, the PCE Coordinator is responsible for all logistical matter whether the PCE Coordinator is physically present or not. The PCE Coordinator will also be responsible together with the Professional Development Committee, the Chairperson of Professional Development to create cases of PCE and to submit them for professional review. Furthermore, it is the duty of the PCE Coordinator to ensure that a structured PCE report and along the cases used be submitted to FPSA Cp.

Leader in Training Program Coordinator (LIT) Compounding Event Coordinator:


This is a new position created to establish a new event and workshop that reflect the formulation/compounding work that pharmacists do in their practice.

Public Health Coordinators:

FPSA has seven Public Health co-coordinator positions to be filled this year one for each of the official Public Health areas of IPSF. These are: Healthy Living and Diabetes, HIV/AIDS Awareness, Tuberculosis, Tobacco Alert, Malaria awareness campaign, Medicine Awareness campaign and Health awareness day.

The Public Health coordinators work under the direction of the FPSA Academic Secretary to promote their determined area of Public Health. The period leading up to the dedicated Public Health day for each Public Health area is a particularly busy time for the coordinators. They will be required to help the Executive board to compile a special edition of the FPSA Newsletter to be sent to all Members. Subcommittees:
Public Health (PH) Subcommittees: Members of the PH sub-committees will be part of the dedicated group. They will work closely with the referring Public Health Coordinator on preparing the campaign place and materials for the dedicated day. They will help promoting the campaign and collecting data. Design and Creativity Sub-committee (DCSC) The DCSC shall consist of three to five members who can assist with the creative and design aspects of the Publications portfolio. Successful applicants will be working with the Media and Publications Secretary and their main tasks will be to assist in designing and creating FPSA promotional materials such as poster, brochures, banners, logos, templates, layouts and web graphics. Applicants should have extensive experience in using common graphic design tools such as Photoshop. It is also advantageous to have access to as well as experience with using Corel Draw and Adobe Illustrator. Professional Development Sub-Committee (PDSC) The PDSC is a brainstorming and 'reviewing' taskforce for all students interested, or who have past experience in the following areas in IPSF Professional Development projects at local/Regional or national level. Student Exchange Committee (SEC)


As a SEC member you are required to be in constant communication with SEO and FPSA external relation officer and assist them with work in the following areas: Create promotional and support materials for FPSA SEP Program. Prepare solid program in order to be able to receive much applicants. Prepare suitable place to live in for SEP students. To Help FPSA ERO and SEO in related preparation. Pharmacy Education Sub-Committee (PESC) They shall be involved in planning and implementation of the Moving On projects and assist in the editing and screening of the FPSA magazine. The committee will also discuss and debate about FPSA Educational and Scientific workshops program which will be organized this year.
