This is the candidate list for the 2009 High School Democrats of America National Convention.

NATIONAL CHAIR
Sania Rahim
Woodrow Wilson High School (2011), West Virginia
I, Sania Rahim, seek the office of National Chair of the High School Democrats of America organization. I am
running for the sole purpose of advancing this organization, which requires its leadership to work at a state
and local level, working from the ground up. If elected, I intend to work closely with the newly-elected
Executive Board, furthering efforts to organize and recruit progressive high school students all across this
nation, because only then can we expand and multiply our efforts, trying to elect Democratic leaders at
local, state, and national levels.

In order to effectively maximize the organization’s efforts it is imperative that the new Executive Board puts
forth a sense of transparency and reaches out to its members. This can only be done if a clarified
constitution and by-laws are set into place and are available to all members of the High School Democrats.
As Chief Executive of the organization I will strive to put forth this sense of transparency so as to create lines
of communication and collaboration between members of the caucus and Executive Board.

I recognize the potential in young leaders all across this country and deem it necessary to keep high school
students involved in the democratic process. I believe this organization has a duty towards high school
students, and that it is our responsibility to keep them engaged in the political process. To increase member
involvement and activity I propose that the organization offer initiatives to promote friendly competition
between states to further advance and rebuild the caucus.

To fund these initiatives, as well as cover other costs of the caucus, a strategic fundraising plan will have to
be put into place by the Executive Board. If elected, I intend to work hand in hand with the Director of
Finance and the National Committee to carry out this plan. We will work with each state to facilitate an
annual fundraiser that is not only efficient but unique. This will empower each state to truly manage their
finances as well as support the national High School Caucus alike. This money will be used to restore each
state’s high school chapters to their full potential through various means such as the national website,
programs, and workbooks that will offer the necessary information and materials state chairs will need to
successfully manage their caucuses.

This caucus has the potential to become a powerful force during election years. Whether or not it lives up to
this is up to the members of this organization. These goals will not be achieved without the hard work and
perseverance of the upcoming Executive Board and caucus members. The manner in which we conduct
ourselves will ultimately define who we are, what we stand for, and how we plan to move forward these next
few years. It has been my privilege to have worked with such bright and ambitious individuals these past few
years and I look forward to serving you in the future.

Ryan Davis
Winchester Community High School (2010), Indiana
Broken dreams empty promises leaders with no leadership. Far too often races like ours turn into popularity
contests. Who can get the most Facebook members or who can raise the most money; however, the main
focus for YDA should be to continue the young voter revolution.
 We can tell from the 2008 campaigns that high school students across the country are eager to get involved
and ready work for the Democratic Party. In truth the high school caucus should be growing at a rapid rate.
We need leadership, not just people holding titles.

I come from a small, rural, and highly Republican town in Indiana. I created and was elected President of the
Young Democrats of Randolph County because of my strong work ethic. I am also an active member of the
Indiana Young Democrats and spear-headed the Indiana Young Democrats High School Caucus, which is
dedicated to fighting for the best interests of high school students across the state. I also took on a much
higher role serving as Vice-Chair for the Indiana Young Democrats in the 6th district of my state. In each of
these positions, I have exhibited real, pragmatic leadership. I did not earn these titles through sitting around
and doing nothing. I am a fighter, continually working in the best interest of all.

For the past year I have had the pleasure of serving as the National Treasurer for our great caucus. I would
love to continue working for the caucus as your National Chair. If elected as chair, I will not be full of empty
promises. I plan on continuing to work on this Young Voter Revolution and keep high school students active.
For example, not only will I work with each and every state to strengthen or create their high school caucus,
but also I will create the first ever High School Leadership Academy, a summer program dedicated to
developing the best and brightest high school students in our party. I believe in our caucus. It works. We just
need proper leadership which I believe I and the Unity Slate have to offer.

I ask that before you make this crucial decision in deciding who to support for the High School Caucus Chair
you think about it for just a moment. I am just a normal Midwestern high school student, but I am also a
dedicated leader. When I first attended a YDA conference, I wasn’t able to just whip out my credit card. No,
instead I had to go door-to-door, asking friends and neighbors to sponsor me. That is what being a Democrat
is about, not fancy logos or slogans, but pure compassion.

If you stand with me as your chair I promise to not fail you. It is time that we are no longer looked down upon
for being high school students but rather looked up to as the future leaders of our party that we are.

EXECUTIVE VICE CHAIR

Kyle Dignoti
Salpointe Catholic High School (2011), Arizona
I, Kyle Dignoti, am seeking the office of vice chair for the High School Democrats of America. At a local and
national level, I have seen the power of youth in politics. The success of high school students in the
democratic process has been insurmountable and, we, as a caucus need to capitalize upon that success and
further it. Even in the midst of our great accomplishments though, there is much work left to do.

If elected, I intend to improve in areas that are vital to the success of our caucus. I plan to work alongside the
newly elected Executive Board to improve caucus communication. Without a solid level of communication
between national and state leaders, our caucus loses effectiveness. Improving communication is a top
priority of mine. If elected I plan to conduct outreach to every state leader to develop strong communication
and to assure that members of the caucus know that the Executive Board is a resource for every student.

Another goal I have, if elected, is for the caucus to expand where there is a lack of high school organizations.
With the Executive Board, I wish to aid in the start-up of new caucuses but also to maintain existing ones.
The maintaining of already present high school caucuses and clubs is essential to our success as a caucus
and as Democrats. With the Board, I wish to make certain that once high school students graduate, new
leadership is ready to take on the roll as democratic leaders.

I recognize the importance that the democratic process has on our lives. Therefore, we need to be absolutely
certain that high school students stay involved in politics. Incentives, along with an Executive Board created
financial plan need to be put into effect to ensure that a level of involvement from high school students
 remains.

With the new Executive Board, I wish to develop relationships with state leaders at the high school level and
beyond so that in the future, as the 2010 election nears, a team of leaders is created to further our goals as
Democrats. A link between national level organizers and local ones needs to be created to create a caucus
that is at work for every member.

This caucus can become the voice for every high school student in America. We recognize the need for more
young people in democratic politics. We can and will strive to abolish the notion that young people are
apathetic when it comes to politics. As a team of leaders, this caucus can be a powerful force for our party.
With commitment and diligence, we can get there.

It has been an honor and a privilege to work with some of the brightest young minds in the country. I wish to
thank everyone that has worked to enrich this caucus and I look forward to the work that lies ahead of us.

Melissa Moskowitz
East Brunswick High School (2010), New Jersey
I am running to be the Vice Chair of the High School Caucus of Young Democrats of America because I
believe that together we can bring about the right kind of change and right type of reforms. I believe that I
can serve the Caucus in its goals to flourish and provide new and innovative opportunities, all while giving
our members the best type of leadership and the tools to succeed as successful Young Democrats.

As Chairwoman of the Young Democrats High School Caucus in New Jersey I have been able to successfully
organize and coordinate events which highlight the best aspects of the Democratic Party and the United
Stated of America, such as canvassing, speakers, debates, campaigning, and of course parties.

When we started the Caucus in New Jersey we had one person running everything. Under my term we
expanded the size of the Caucus, began a fundraising program, and created the first New Jersey High School
Caucus Executive Board.

I have successfully led many youth oriented campaigns. I served Director of Youth Outreach for Congressman
Rob Andrews’ Senate Campaign. In this role, I worked to organize a student fundraiser that was attended by
the Congressman and highlighted the best of our youth movement.

I also served Co-Director of the NJ High School Students for Barack Obama. In this role, I organized events
where students attended and learned how to become leaders themselves. In addition, I helped to organize a
GOTV overnight trip to Philadelphia to rock the vote for President Obama!

One of my core issues is the environment. In my town I serve as the County Secretary for the Sierra Club and
as the Vice President of my school's environmentalist club.

I know that if I were given this unbelievable opportunity to serve my peers, party, and country, I would
devout all of my heart to ensuring this organization would be the best it could possibly be.

POLITICAL DIRECTOR

Zachary Roach
Murray High School (2010), Utah
I am a viable candidate for Political Director because I have suburb research abilities and a passion for
politics that is necessary for this position. For the past year I have attended many of the Democratic
 conventions held in Utah. I have created a Young Democrats Murray High School Chapter and am currently in
the process of garnering support for it. I have been on my school's debate team for 2 years participating in
many tournaments all of which required a good amount of research. I am running for this position because I
want to do the most possible for the Democratic Party.

Joshua D. Hughes
Western Alamance High School (2011), North Carolina
I, Josh Hughes, seek the office of Vice-Chair for Political Affairs of the High School Democrats of America. I am
running for the dual purposes of advancing liberal ideals and policies through the election of Democratic
officials throughout the nation and combating the rampant political apathy now present in the teenage
population. If elected, I intend to work closely with the members of both the newly-elected Executive Board
and the High School Democrats National Committee with the stated objectives of working to elect
Democratic officials at the state, local, and national levels, as well as prompting an interest in politics in
students throughout America.

In order to effectively maximize the national organization’s efforts it is imperative that the newly-elected
Executive Board works to develop the organizational capabilities of both state caucuses and local chapters.
In order to better target political seats, appropriate funds, and recommend volunteers, a national database
should be formed with the aim of identifying all seats up for contestation throughout the nation. This can
only be done if a sufficient technological network is in place to support such efforts. Therefore, it should be a
chief priority of the High School Caucus to develop effective methods by which to communicate
technologically. As Vice-Chair of Political Affairs for the High School Democrats, I will work tirelessly to make
sure the organization has both the political and technological resources it needs to succeed in advancing the
agenda of the Democratic Party.

As evidenced by the 2008 election cycle, change begins with the youth of a nation. If such a large segment
of the population was permanently mobilized on a national scale, the possibilities would only end with the
limits of the imagination itself. With a drive unmatched in the American past, the youth of this nation now
has the potential to become a major force in future election cycles if utilized in an efficient and effective
manner. As such, it is the duty of the High School Democrats to be a catalyst to this innate political initiative
now being experienced by students across the nation. To do so, the organization must have an effective
strategy for national organization and volunteerism. As Vice-Chair for Political Affairs, I will work to
implement such a strategy.

This caucus has the potential to become a powerful force for change during election cycles. The
responsibility for whether or not it becomes such a force as an organization ultimately rests upon the
leadership of the organization. Distinguished designs for this caucus may only be achieved if its members
and leadership are obliging to consummate such aims. To actualize the change we seek and envision, we
must conduct our efforts in a manner elevated beyond what has been seen in the past. We must be willing to
hold ourselves to a higher standard. If elected, it will be my pleasure to work beside such motivated
individuals as are present in the High School Democrats and effect change throughout the nation.

Jordan Rasmusson
Fergus Falls High School (2011), Minnesota
Let’s be honest.

The High School Caucus is not living up to its potential. Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and other Democratic
leaders have inspired a new generation of high school students to become more politically involved and the
current political climate has never been better for rallying high school students around the ideals of the
Democratic Party.

But the High School Caucus has yet to fully seize this opportunity. The reason I am running for Political
Director of our caucus is because I wish to make our caucus a more influential part of the political process
 and make sure that high school students have a seat at the table of the Democratic Party.

As a delegate to the Democratic National Convention and a youth media surrogate for the DNC, I understand
the inner-workings of our party and what it takes to make a lasting impact. I have also been the Mid-West
Regional Director for our caucus and have been able to convince political campaigns to have a high school
student sit on their election committee.

Another thing that will benefit me as Political Director is my experience with our competitors, the Teenage
Republicans. I attended their weeklong leadership conference in Washington and was amazed how the
Republican Party had a stronger run high school organization than we do as Democrats. The Teenage
Republicans have four full-time paid staff and a weeklong leadership conference for high school students
where they can interact with their party leaders. Even though the Democrats are more popular with the
youth and have mastered the tools of the digital age, our caucus is run completely on volunteers and has yet
to hold more than an evening event for our caucus.

If we want to live up to our potential as the High Democrats of America we are going to have to convince the
DNC and even the leadership in the YDA how essential of a role we play in national politics. I am willing and
ready to serve as Political Director and will make sure that our caucus is fully connected and supported by
the party as a whole. Together we can truly make our generation, the Democratic Generation.

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Molly Coleman
Central High School (2010), Minnesota
First off, the basics. I am a junior at Central High School in St. Paul, Minnesota, and am running for the
Director of Development for the YDA High School Caucus. Next, the reason why you should care. Director of
Development is a role that I view as crucial to the caucus. If we are not working to build up our base and
expand the area in which we have an influence, we can never hope to accomplish any more than we already
are. By bringing in new people, new schools, and new chapters, we have the ability to bring about far more
change at a much higher level. The more chapters that we have involved, the more lives we can touch and
the more causes we can advance, which, after all, is what the caucus is all about. Finally, the reason why you
should vote for me (as cocky as that might sound). For the last year and a half, I have served as the High
School Caucus Chair of Minnesota. During that time, I have made expanding our state’s caucus a main
priority – this has given me the experience that is necessary to do the same on a national scale. Additionally,
through experiences such as interning for Al Franken and serving as the High School Director of the Youth
Coordinated Campaign, I have had a chance to really be involved in politics and have come to understand
the issues that are most important to high schoolers. These experiences have given me what I believe is the
ability to serve in this new post, and the ability to do it well. Thanks!

Asher Heimermann
Sheboygan South High School (2012), Wisconsin
I am a student at Sheboygan South High School in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. I am a well known political figure
in the Midwest and a popular student leader at Sheboygan South High School. I've been involved in politics
and community service since 2005. I have volunteered for many political campaigns and non-profit
organizations in the City of Sheboygan. Recently, I raised $13,735 for Barack Obama's presidential campaign
from January to October. Throughout my life, I have given my time to help people of all ages to build a better
tomorrow. As a full time student, I understand the importance of respecting each other for who we are. I
want to strengthen public education and ensure that America’s future can be lead by a new generation that
is educated as well as informed.

Charlie Dann
Liberty High School (2010), Ohio
My name is Charlie Dann. I live in Youngstown, Ohio and I'm a junior at Liberty High School. I am the current
Vice Chair for Political Affairs for the YDA High School Caucus. I was elected in 2006 to my position.
 I am running to be your next Development director becuase I believe I have strong ideas that can help shape
this caucus. I want to work for this caucus and with your help we can make this caucus the most successful
caucus within YDA.

I have been active in politics since age seven. I have worked on winning School Board, State Senate, and
Attorney General races for my father and mother. In these campaigns I was integrally involved in strategy
and had roles such as being on the road as a surrogate speaker, fundraiser, door to door organizer, and any
thing else that needed to be done. (As all of we junkies have come to know).

Along with this I have worked in a lesser capacity for many other campaigns including the Obama campaign.
I attended the 2004 Democratic Convention where I was on stage when John Kerry gave his acceptance
speech. I went to President Barack Obama's announcement in Springfield, Illinois in zero degree weather. I
have interned in the Ohio House of Representatives.

I was the President of my Youth Leadership class. I play Football and do Track. I participate in Student
Government, Global Action and Awareness Club, and Prep Bowl at school.

The attribute that most accurately defines me is my political ideology. I am proud to say I am a Democrat. I
believe in helping those who are less fortunate. I’m a firm believer in diplomacy. I believe free trade must be
fair trade. I care about American workers and American companies and believe we should support them first.
I did my fifth grade science fair project on wind turbines and know we as a nation can do far more regarding
alternative energy.

I am a strong leader and have worked hard at building relationships at all levels of government and politics
that I will continue to put to work for High School Democrats.

FINANCE DIRECTOR

Elliot Minge
Paris High School (2010), Illinois
I, Elliott Minge seek the office of Director of Finance for the High School Democrats of America National
Organization. This caucus has been denied its true potential for far too long simply because of insufficient
funding. Our caucus has the potential to be a strong, dominant force during and off of election cycles and
with a strong foundation to build upon we can become just that.

I have worked with numerous organizations over the years to cultivate a greater understanding of fiscal
responsibility and action. Working with troubled institutions with little to no money and turning them into
successful youth ran programs has shown me how important it is to have a skilled leader when it comes to
financial matters.

Our caucus has the potential to be a strong force; it has the potential to organize on a national level and be
heard, but without a strong fiscal foundation to build upon these goals will not happen. The key to a strong
organization is to build it on a strong foundation that can support the many challenges of that organization,
but with a weak foundation the organization is doomed for failure as we have seen many times over.

Rather than have any kind of yearly membership or rechartering fees I plan on implementing a nationwide
two part fundraising strategy to restore our caucus. This plan will not only build up the National High School
Caucus but more importantly it will provide each and every state with the crucial funding they need to hit the
ground running year after year. With my comprehensive plan to restore our caucus both financially and
structurally our caucus will truly have the momentum and resources it needs to live up to its potential.

Many candidates may throw big numbers and titles at you as they venture to win your favor and vote but it
is always important to remember who is ready to lead on day one.
 Experience is important when choosing a candidate for office but substance and action are crucial. This
organization needs a candidate who has more to say that what they have done in the past; this organization
needs a candidate that has substance and can provide concrete plans and strategies that will not only fund
out caucus but rebuild it from the ground up.

As Illinois High School Caucus Chair, and as a candidate with this campaign I have truly got to hear the
concerns, opinions, and voices of numerous high school students across the country and they all share a
common thought; we need action, we need a leader who can deliver for us. Members of the National High
School Caucus, I am here today to tell you that I am that leader and I will deliver for you.

Timothy Hwang
Thomas S. Wooton High School (2010), Maryland
Around the country, students are taking a stand and voicing their opinions to their elected officials. Perhaps
as an after-effect of the 2008 Election, we see an entire generation of youth ready to take on leadership and
a role in the movement. Our caucus has continued to rise above the rest of the organization with its
innovative ideas and leaders, and next year will serve as no exception.

I have been part of this movement this entire life and would ask graciously for your vote. For the past 3 years
I have been serving as the CEO/President of an international non-profit organization (Operation Fly, Inc.)
fighting homelessness, poverty, and illiteracy in the inner-cities of Washington DC, Baltimore, Chicago, New
York, and now Toronto, LA, and Detroit (with plans for overseas), currently managing approximately 800
employees and a budget of close to $150,000, the Board of Directors and all day-to-day management.
Politically speaking, in the past election I was kept busy managing the High School efforts of the Students for
Barack Obama campaign in several counties in the State of Maryland and in the Mid-Atlantic (through the
Democratic Party) - especially in Virginia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania after having served as an intern
for three of Maryland's eight congressional delegation, and almost every office in the local, state, and federal
governments as well as sitting on numerous corporate, non-profit (including dosomething.org), and PAC
boards . Furthermore, throughout the past year, I have also been able to serve as an elected official in the
state of Maryland as a Member of the Board of Education elected by 70,000 citizens and sworn in by the
Clerk of the Court to oversee 22,000 employees, a $2.2 billion dollar budget, 140,000 students in 200
schools for a county of 1.1 million residents, after serving as a county/state SGA officer for several years,
training countless student leaders across the state and the country and lobbying at every level of
government. Throughout my tenure I have been able to speak at various community functions including
galas for several Fortune 1000 companies in the Washington DC Metro area and meet several Cabinet
Secretaries, several Governors, and White House Senior Advisors to the President who were all strong
advocates for public education. As my experience suggests, I have extensive experience not only in
managing and organizing but in development and finance as well as many other skills that the organization
may need.

Having been recognized as the Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young (Fortune 500), one of the top 25
student leaders in the world of 2009 by Bentley University and TIME Magazine, a community leader through
numerous congressmen's and governors' citations, the Washington Post, TIME Magazine, The Gazette, the
International Press Wire/syndicate Voices of America, and ABC7 News, I would like to have the opportunity to
be part of this movement. As a caucus, we are poised to take on a new future and I would like the
opportunity to serve as your next Finance Director.

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR

Aaron Gettinger
Sullivan High School (2011), Indiana
As Communications Director, I would be very adept at bringing the High School Caucus into the 21st Century
with emphasis on bring forth a cutting-edge strategy to beginning new chapters in schools as well as
 recruiting more high school students to serve their communities through vibrant activism in the Democratic
Party

I have been involved in politics throughout my entire life, having volunteered in the Obama campaign for six
months last year and having just established a chapter of Young Democrats in my county. Also, I have grown
up around media, as my parents operate one of only a few family-owned daily newspapers left in the United
States. I have attended Indiana Democratic Editorial Association meetings for years, and am currently a
reporter for the paper as well.

Besides my qualifications in politics and media relations, I have lived a life that presents me with unique
viewpoints in making my decisions. I am from a rural, agrarian area, and one that is very conservative at
that. I am also openly gay, a fact that has brought about great hardships in simply living my life freely and
without shame. I am lucky, however, as I have parents and friends that support me–something that makes
my life a bit easier to deal with.

I know, though, that others like me are not as lucky. Living lives in forgotten areas of the country; many have
no choice but to remain in the closet in order just to survive. If they were to come out, they could face
ostracism from their friends, abandonment from their homes, or perhaps even injury and death from their
surroundings.

I knew the consequences of coming out when I did it, and I have lived with them. It has not been easy.

However, things are changing. Our President came within a percentage point of winning my home county-
even though it is overwhelmingly pastoral, conservative, and almost overwhelmingly white. A chapter of
PFLAG (Parents, Friends, and Families of Lesbians and Gays) has been started in the city directly north of me,
and has been met with great success.

For these reasons, we must keep the momentum going. The Democratic Party has always been the party of
the common man, and has always supported them. Our big tent not only covers trade unions, minorities, and
liberals, but also people from around this great nation. Our President and Congress are making decisions that
will not only impact us now, but also in years to come. Let us continue to support them by building the High
School Caucus in order for them to hear us and create a country that in the future will be a shining beacon of
hope for all around the world.

In order to do this, I ask only for your vote.

Laura Hardwick
University School of Milwaukee (2010), Wisconsin
I, Laura Hardwick seek the office of Director of Communications for the High School Democrats of America
National Organization. I think that this organization needs the opportunity to do the work of our party, but
recently is has been held back from that desire.

For years now I’ve aspired to devote my life to politics. I’ve spent my summers at Georgetown studying
government, portrayed legislators at Harvard Model Congress, planned, executed, and participated in an
election simulation hosted at my school, and spent the last three years working as a columnist and editor for
my school paper. Now I’m delighted to have the opportunity to work with the High School Caucus and rebuild
the very infrastructure of our caucus.

The sheer lack of communication on local, state and national levels has severely left a negative impact on
our caucus. Re-tooling the very way we communicate will empower the caucus to come together on all levels
and work as one. It is time that we created a system of communication that fits with the 20th century, and
that is exactly what I plan to do.

In order to see this plan come to reality we must first strengthen the very bond between state associations
and the National High School Caucus Executive board. This vital line of communication can and will come in
 many forms but the most efficient while yet effective manner is the use of the internet. Utilizing this
instantaneous tool grounds our caucus into a foundation of good communication.

Many candidates may suggest similar measures when it comes to communication through the internet as a
means to improve the discussion and overall functioning of our caucus, but it is always important to look at
those individuals internet history and ask yourself, have they themselves successfully utilized the internet in
terms of improving communication in our very own caucus and can therefore testify on its behalf? I have
consistently throughout my prior political experience and especially with this campaign utilized the internet
as a major tool with much success.

We must utilize the resources before us and reach for those we do not have; we must always keep our sight
on the future and not on the past. This is our time to restore the High School Caucus as a body of action and
progress that is respected throughout the YDA and the United States.

I stand before you today with the experience, plans, action to hit the ground running on day one, unleashing
a new era for the high school caucus. This is our time, our chance, to make the right choice and rebuild our
caucus. Stand with me and together we can bring a new era to the High School Democrats of America.

I am a seventeen year old attending a public high school in St. Paul, MN. I have had a lot of experience
working with the Obama Campaign in late 2007 and nearly all of 2008, doing numerous street canvasses,
canvasses, phone banks, and a few literature drops and data entry sessions early in the campaign. I am a
passionate Democrat, like all of you, and I believe that I offer sound judgment and leadership when it comes
to getting the nation's youth involved in politics. I would love it if you would allow me to serve the National

- Serve as the official voice of the High School Democrats of
America
- Represent this organization to the Young Democrats of
America
Political Director
- Research and propose endorsements of candidates and
issues consistent with the philosophy and mission of this
organization
- Work to ensure this organization is advancing Democratic
ideals
- Stay informed about national political events, and notify
the leadership and membership of relative news
- Serve as an ex-officio and non-voting member of the
National Committee Campaign Team
Executive Vice Chair
- Run all meetings of the Executive Board in the absence of
the Chair
- Plan all National Conferences and Conventions
- Manage the staff of the High School Democrats of America
- Serve as an ex-officio and non-voting member of the
National Committee Strategic Planning Team
Development Director
- Work to form new state organizations and develop existing
ones
- Work to recruit new members and expand the membership
- Work to recruit new leaders and ensure accountable and
dedicated leadership at all levels of this organization
- Serve as an ex-officio and non-voting member of the
National Committee Development Team
Finance Director Communications Director
- Manage the General Fund of the High School Democrats of - Ensure communication between the National Committee,
America Executive Board, National Staff, and membership
- Submit a yearly budget for approval by the National - Keep the membership updated as to the status of the
Committee and Executive Board national organization
- Be responsible for all disbursements, receipts, banking - Create and execute a strategy for broadcasting the
relationships, FEC statements and all other bookkeeping message of the High School Democrats of America to a
responsibilities of the organization wider community
- Actively raise money to support the efforts of the High - Ensure publicity for all major events of the High School
School Democrats of America and work with the Executive Democrats of America - Take minutes at all meetings of the
Board, National Committee, and membership to do the High School Democrats of America
same - Serve as an ex-officio and non-voting member of the
- Serve as an ex-officio and non-voting member of the National Committee Communications Team
National Committee Finance Team
Parliamentarian
- Render opinions and rulings requested by the National Chair, or when appealed to from the membership regarding the
High School Democrats of - America by-laws or its interactions with the Young Democrats of America
- Collect and maintain records of parliamentary inquiries and issues
- Run all National Elections, and resolve any election disputes
- Serve as an ex-officio and non-voting member of the National Committee Membership Team
