Some of the blessings from our three centers

Plainfield
A woman comes to our Plainfield center for a pregnancy test; she may are may not be pregnant. The test is completed. If she is pregnant her decision might be keep her baby regardless of her circumstances. Sometimes the living conditions are not ideal for this lady; however, after our conversation she decides not to have another abortion. I am often reminded of how God sees beyond the covering that there is a Gem to be uncovered. The Lord sent this woman in for more than a pregnancy test. She may a wonderful smile, is friendly and overall seems to be very enjoying life. However, hidden beneath is a hungry and hurting lady. She searches to know how to have a relationship with God more than the results of her test. Her life is full of pain and disappointment. In this situation, I learned that this woman was homeless, living in a compromising situation, possibly facing prison, having severed ties with family. All this helped to create the situation. The miracle is God says come as you are and I am glad He allowed me to look out of His lenses and see what He saw - a woman that wanted the grace of God in her life and recognized she needed to change how she was living. She prayed to trust Jesus as her savior that day and shared that she wanted to follow Christ. She understood that change would be a process and take some time. We praise the Lord that He looks beyond our faults and sees our need. I thank Him for the opportunity on occasion to be a part of his plan when he is uncovering a Gem. Dorothy Booker

Elizabeth
Joann has been to our Elizabeth office a number of times over the past few years. When she came in on September 10th, she had already had a child on July 10th. Joann originally came to Gateway in December of 2012. She was abortion minded. She wanted to take the abortion pill to get rid of the child. We shared with her at that visit the ramifications, side effects and consequences of abortion. We also shared with her the gospel of Christ. She trusted Christ at that December 2012 visit. Now, she shared with us that because of that visit ..and what you said to me, I have kept my baby, gotten married (within three months of the visit), am attending a local church faithfully, want to life a dedicated life to Christ, and (know that) I will not go to hell. Praise God for His faithfulness and for the privilege of ministering here at Gateway! What a great honor it truly is to serve the Lord! Blessings, Jackie West

Irvington
Penny, age 27 is from Haiti. She lives with her husband and two children (ages 2 and 7) around the block from our Irvington location. She works part time at a senior citizens home in West Orange. She is against abortion. Her husband works as well. Rosemarie speaks with her about her faith and the need to trust God in all circumstances. She seemed relaxed when the positive results were confirmed. She and Rosemarie prayed together. Her baby is due in April 2014.
