Williams Lesson Plan Date: September 29, 2013 Subject: Science Signature of Classroom Teacher: J. Williams ______________________________________________________________________________ I. Standards AL.S5.3.7 AL.TC.3.2 II. Objectives Recognize and describe structures of a butterfly in growth, survival, and reproduction. Identify and describe the stages of the butterfly life cycle. III. Introductory Activities Attention class. 1, 2, 3 all eyes on me. This week boys and girls we will be studying the butterfly and at the end of the week we will be going on a field trip to Callaway Gardens Butterfly Center. All permission slips should be signed and returned by Wednesday including all money as well. Okay class, all eyes on the board please. Lets watch this YouTube video and learn all about the butterfly life cycle. IV. Developmental Activities Reteach the video using slide share. Lets review with slide share. Ask the following questions. Describe the life cycle of a butterfly including growth and reproduction. Use of various technology applications including multimedia software.

Culminating Activities The children will complete a worksheet on labeling the four stages of the butterfly life cycle.
VI.
Assessment (Evaluation of the Days Objectives/Assessing Students Learning) Informal Assessment If the students complete their life cycle correctly then they will have successfully completed the lesson.
VII.
Modifications for Special Needs ADHD These students will participate and help out when needed in all activities. Hearing Impaired During the lesson pictures will be presented. Visually Impaired Assign seats closer to the board.
