Model D9154 Advanced Compression Encoder

Description
The PowerVu Advanced Compression Encoder (ACE) is a flexible MPEG-2/AVC (MPEG-4 part 10, also known as H.264) compliant transmission system, featuring advanced signal processing providing unsurpassed video quality and optimal bandwidth savings. In this encoder, AVC can co-exist with MPEG-2 video within the same chassis. This enables operators to select between both video formats or transmit both video formats in the same transport stream. The ACE is based on a modular design that allows for product flexibility in order to effectively meet the needs of single-channel transmissions in a variety of applications. This flexible architecture is capable of supporting the VC-9 coding format.

Fixed Contribution Uplink

Superb video quality is available for program origination in 4:2:0 or 4:2:2 (MPEG-2) formats, with up to eight independent audio feeds.

Digital Satellite News Gathering (DSNG) Uplink

The ACE offers a low profile and rugged packaging to suit transport cases or vehicle mounted DSNG operation. Minimal external hardware allows you to conserve rack space while multiple video format (MPEG-2 and AVC) support through the on-board configuration system can get you on-air quickly. With the addition of an onboard Advanced Modulator card, you now have a complete DSNG compression system in one 2RU package.

Telecom Network Operation

Program contribution and distribution over terrestrial telecommunications networks is simplified by using the DVBASI standard transport stream interface. In addition, an SNMP interface supports control/monitoring by an external NMS.

Features
