ENVIRONMENT: The biophysical environment is the biotic and abiotic surrounding of an

organism or population, and includes particularly the factors that have an influence in their survival, development and evolution.[1] The naked term environment can make reference to different concepts, but it is often used as a short form for the biophysical environment. This practice is common, for instance, among governments, that usually name their departments and agencies dealing with the biophysical environment with denominations like Environment Agency. Whereas the expression "the environment" is often used to refer to the global environment, usually as referred to humanity, the number of biophysical environments is countless, given that it is always possible to consider an additional living organism that has its own environment. TOADS AND FROGS

There are many differences in frogs in toads!!! Here are some of the major things. Frogs:

Slimy skin Live mostly in water teeth on top of mouth long legs used for jumping

Toads:

Bumpy skin Live mostly on land No teeth Short legs (not huge jumpers)

Frog Characteristics

Frogs have bulging eyes Frogs have long, webbed hind feet Frogs have a long, narrow body Frogs have strong back legs for jumping Frogs have smooth, slimy skin Frogs breed in water Frogs live in moist environments, usually in or near water

Frogs lay their eggs in clusters

Toad Characteristics

Toads have stubby bodies Toads have short hind legs Toads walk instead of hopping Toads have dry, bumpy skin that resembles warts Toads have a Paratoid (poison) gland behind their eyes Toads have different cartilage in their chest then frogs do Toads lay eggs in long chains. There are even a few toads that bear live young.

RATS AND MICE They are different species of rodents. Mice aren't predators. Rats are predators. Rats are social animals. Mice are not social animals. Rats tend to be bigger than mice. The rat is bigger than the mouse. A mouse is small and has a skinny tail. A rat is bigger and has a thicker tail. Mice have larger, almost disproportionately sized ears in comparison to rats. Their faces are more pointed, and their legs are less developed/muscular. Plus, they cannot chew through as much as rats can chew through. Overall they are much weaker. In fact, rats have been known to eat mice. Rats are much bigger, they are more intelligent, make better pets and aren't as easy to catch or kill. Mice are small, timid and don't live as long as rats. They live for only 1-3 years and rats live 2-5 years. The mouse is much smaller than the rat. The two animals are of different species. Rats have a pointed muzzle, a long slender tail and well developed forepaws. The color can be black to brown. The mouse is a small rodent, usualy with gray or brown fur and long and hairless tails. Mice have large ears in proportion to rats and their forepaws are less powerful.
