Virginia hendersons need theory: Virginia hendersons need theory PowerPoint Presentation: Virginia Avenel Henderson was born on march 19,1897,in Kansas City, Missouri; she died on November 30,1996,when she was 98 years old. During her life time and more than 60-year career as a nurse, teacher, author, and researcher PowerPoint Presentation: Henderson made such significant contributions to the discipline of nursing that she has been referred to by some as the Florence Nightingale of the twentieth century Hendersons interest in nursing began during World War I and grew out of her desire to help the sick and wounded in the military. PowerPoint Presentation: She graduated from the Army School of Nursing in 1921 and began practice at Henry Street Visiting Nurse Service in Newyork .In 1926,Henderson began the continuation of her education at Columbia University Teachers College ,where she completed her bachelors of science and master of arts degrees in nursing education. Ten relates to self esteem, ten and eleven relates to love and belonging. The twelth and thirteenth components are sociologically oriented to occupational recreation. Eleven to fourteen related to self actualization.
