MASINAG TECHNOLOGY FOR PALAY PRODUCTION PER HECTARE 1. Land Preparation a.

Soak the field for 5 days before plowing b. Harrow 2 times with 5 days gap c. Spread 1 bag 14-14-14 before last harrowing d. Level the field to allow water reach all areas e. Apply 1 liter Masinag 1 day before transplanting. (1% dilution w/ water) f. Transplant Seedling Preparation a. Select good seeds b. Soak the seeds for about 16 to 18 hours in water mixed with 1% of Masinag until the seeds swell. c. For every 4 to 5 kg of seeds inbred, prepare a seedbed measuring 40 square meters. Each bed must be about 2 m wide and 20 m in length with drainage canal between plots. d. After preparing the seedbed, apply 1 to 1.5 bags of organic materials like compost and carbonized rice hull for every 40 m2 seedbed or 10 kilos 1414-14 in the absence of organic materials, before seed broadcast. e. Once the seedbed is prepared, broadcast 20 kg of pre-germinated seeds at a rate of 100 grams, this is about a handful-for every square meter. This will prevent seeds from clumping together to avoid competition for nutrients and other growth factors. f. After 5 days, spray with Masinag. This will loosen the soil, and make pulling of seeds easier. This will also prevent root damage, thus reducing transplanting stress. g. After 10 days, apply 5 kg Urea per 40sqm. h. The seedlings are ready for transplant in about 16 to 20 days. Innovative Transplanting (Inbred) a. Transplant 1 to 2 seedlings per hill (slightly slanted). b. Distance should be 16cm x16cm (dry season) and 20cm x 20cm (wet season), c. Transplant depth should be 2cm d. This method only requires 40 kg of seeds per hectare. e. Replant missing hills within 7 days after transplanting. Intermittent Irrigation a. During transplant, water should be minimal. b. Let paddy dry for about 5days), for tillering. c. Broadcast germinated seeds. b. 20 days after broadcasting (DAB), apply 1 bag Urea and 1 bag Ammosul. c. 22 DAB, spray 1-1/2 liter Masinag Organic per Ha. (1% dilution w/ water) d. 34 DAB apply 1 bag 14-14-14. e. 36 DAB, spray 1-1/2 liter Masinag Organic per Ha. (1% dilution w/ water) f.
