Always one step ahead when quality is concerned: Eisenbau Krmer (EBK) was the first German steel

pipe manufacturer to obtain already in 1990 the ISO 9001 certification for longitudinally welded steel pipes. As early as 1958 we obtained the API licence for the manufacture of line pipes. Since being audited as per API-Q1, EBK are entitled to bear the official API monogram for quality levels API 5L and API 2B in our plants in Hilchenbach, Littfeld and Recklinghausen.

General regulations and standards: API 5L, API 2B, API 5LD ASTM, DIN (EN) PED ISO; BS, ASME U, ASME S Testing: Non-destructive testing: ultrasonic, dye penetration, magnetic particle and X-ray testing Mechanical: Bending and tensile tests, KBZ, hardness, CTOD, DWTT, corrosions tests for CLAD Qualifications and approvals: e.g. as per ISO 9001-2000, EN 290001, various certification organizations as well as all renowned companies in the energy industry

Line pipes

Line pipes
Networks providing consumers throughout the world with liquid or gaseous energy are constructed from these pipes. New discoveries of resources in far-flung areas of the world constantly require new technical developments to cope with different environmental conditions. Eisenbau Krmer (EBK) have faced this challenge for many years. In addition to standard pipes, we produce pipes for further processing energy carriers, not only from standard materials but also from materials carefully selected to suit specific applications. Therefore, our R & D department co-operates closely with suppliers of steel plate and filler metals, with research institutes and with our customers, in order to jointly develop the best solution.

EBK clad - Pipes with inside or outside cladding

Quality achieved using advanced machines

In our production we use advanced machines which are constantly revised, improved and extended. Both new technologies and the expansion of capacity are taken into account. EBKs own developments are considered when planning new production lines, in order to optimize the complete production process. The focal point in all fields of production are bending capabilities, welding equipment, an own heat treatment center and the possibility of performing non-destructive testing, because new materials impose high requirements, especially in these areas.

Pipes for highly aggressive fluids require materials which have high corrosion resistance and at the same time high strength. For such purposes, we manufacture pipes from steel plate which is clad using metallurgical methods. The base metal may be selected from a wide range of materials (mainly C-Mn steels). The cladding may consist of stainless steel, nickel-based alloy or copper-nickel alloy. The material in combination with the processing and welding techniques applied by us allows high demands to be met with respect to mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. The production programme includes almost the complete range of pipes required for fuel pipelines.

EBK cryo - Pipes for use at extremely low temperatures down to -196 C

-196 C

The liquid gas range is a constantly growing market. For ease of transport, gases are liquefied at extremely low temperatures. As an alternative to stainless steel, nickelalloy steels may be used. In recent years, pipes with a nickel content of up to 3.5% were supplied for specific projects. Pipes made from 9% and 36% nickel steels are now offered by EBK for use in the construction of tanks and line pipes. The mechanical properties achieved for longitudinal and circumferential welding are above those specified in the applicable standards.

X120

Pipes made from high-tensile steel (up to X120)

EBK constantly apply new developments in this field. A yield strength of X80 was a novelty some years ago, but today pipes are produced in accordance with API 5L, which corresponds to a yield strength of X120. These qualities are mainly used for riser pipes.

EBK power - Pipes made from heat resistant steel (1 Cr up to grade 91 or 92)

Dimensions:
By investment in and modification of production plants, the range of dimensions is constantly extended.

Wall thickness: Length:

0.265 3 (6.0 77.0 mm) max. 44' (13,400 mm)

For decades, EBK have produced pipes from heat resistant steels such as 1 Cr and 2 Cr up to 9% Cr. In 1999, grade 91 welded pipes were developed for power stations. These pipes are used at extremely high temperatures, and special production methods are required in order to cope with the exacting demands. Today, these pipes are used in many power stations worldwide. They are a technical and commercial alternative to seamless pipes, and they are well accepted by plant operators and engineering companies.

X80 NACE

Pipes for sour service meeting highest requirements

Having been involved in a large number of projects, EBK have many years of experience in the field of pipes for sour gas. These pipes are manufactured in accordance with NACE standards TM 0284 (solutions A & B), as well as to customers specifications. The requirements imposed can be met for pipes up to a strength of 80,000 PSI.
