MVAs Role in Transportation


The MD Motor Vehicle Administration is the gateway to Marylands transportation infrastructure. MVA touches the lives of nearly every resident in MD. Almost 4.1M people hold a valid MD drivers licenses. Approx 4.8m vehicles are registered in the State of MD.

Overview
Over the last 10 fiscal years, the MVA has lost 223 permanent and contractual positions, all the while experiencing an 8% increase in transactions. Manage more than 10 million driver and vehicle records.

Process nearly 12 million core transactions.


Handle almost 8 million walk-in transactions.
