About this ebook
Thomas Wentworth Higginson was an American Unitarian minister, author, abolitionist, and soldier. He was active in the American Abolitionism movement during the 1840s and 1850s, identifying himself with disunion and militant abolitionism. During the Civil War, he served as colonel of the 1st South Carolina Volunteers, the first federally authorized African-American regiment, from 1862-1864. Following the war, Higginson devoted much of the rest of his life to fighting for the rights of freed slaves, women and other disfranchised peoples.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5About a year ago, I first read Holy Ghost Writer’s ‘The Girl Started her Own Country’, and as much as I enjoyed that one, I find that this exciting follow-up, ‘The Anonymous Girl’ is quite a literary achievement on its own.In this sequel, Zaydee—the violet-eyed heroine in the previous book—is sassier, fiercer, and more powerful. Even in prison (at the Miami Federal Detention Center at that), nothing could make Zaydee buckle, earning her a reputation for being a royal pain in the a$$ of those who wrongfully accused her of committing a crime. But even while incarcerated, Zaydee—through her wit, connections, and genius—manages to orchestrate a breath-taking plan not only to escape her captors, but also accomplish her goal of founding a country all her won. ‘The Anonymous Girl’ pushes the right buttons as far as entertainment is concerned—the author deftly builds up the excitement so much that by the time the corrupt judge realizes what the judge has it coming, you’re chuckling in satisfaction and exclaiming, “Attagirl!”Overall, this is quite a rollercoaster ride. If you loved ‘The Girl started her Own Country’ and, like me, wanted some more, then you’re in for a treat. Get a copy of this today while you still can—or send this as a gift to your friends. You won’t be disappointed.
