What is The Will of God for My Life?

October 6th, 2013

Basic Truths to Guide the Search for the Will of God:

All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Tim. 3:16-17

Foundation for Finding the Will of God: SCRIPTURE Gods WORD is the Lens by which EVERYTHING is Viewed. Gods VOICE will never contradict His WORD. The WILL of God will never consist of the Christian doing NOTHING.

C ATALYST

But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Isa. 40:31

Wait qu-ava to twist tie and bind like a rope. (to the will of God) Renew cha-laph shall sprout up again Strength- Ko-ach- Power, might, to a place that was devoid of power and might. Mount up- Ala- be lifted up. Wings eber(aver) a feather of a wing.(not the wing itself) Run Ruits Run to rush upon Weary- to labour and grow weak from toil and pain. Walk-yalak- to go ; to walk Faint- ya-aph- to be fatigued or wear out. Notice here that we are to wait in 3 different parts.. 1) When we SOAR - Youth 2) When we RUN- Prime 3) When we WALK Old Age In essence, here is what that verse is saying: Those that twist, tie, and bind themselves to the will of God shall sprout up from a place that was devoid of power and might with Gods power and might. Like a feather that is bound to the wing of an eagle, we shall be lifted up, we shall run and not grow weak from toil and pain from laboring for Gods sake, and as we walk through this world, we will not wear out. Waiting on God is VERY active and as we said before, never results in the Christian doing Nothing. We are to bind ourselves with the will of God as revealed in Scripture.

The WILL of God is more about our Relationship WITH God prompting and moving us to make the most of every opportunity set before us for the Glory of God.

As we pray and Holy Spirit reveals the very essence, nature, and character of God, we will become more and more aware of how God wants us to live and conduct our lives. Decisions the Christian makes may not always result in Zero stress, but they will and can be made with perfect peace. One can be nervous and a bit stressed but still have peace; however, the Christian that has no peace with their decisions can be assured of stress and nervousness. Living in Gods Permissive Will Leads to Trouble, Strive, and Discontentment. One can move from Gods Permissive Will to Gods Perfect Will, However, many times, the decisions made while in the Permissive will of God, will have irrevocable consequences. At the same time, Gods Love will triumph and Peace can be found and God will work all things together for God. (1Sam.8)

C ATALYST

As we said earlier, God does have a perfect will for our lives; one that is lived out according to the Word of God. It is when we are living and moving in this perfect will of God that we will find peace and contentment even if the future is unknown. For instance, God calls me to teach, but instead, I listen to others and take on a sewing ministry. Yes, there may some fruit from that ministry, but it is a constant struggle and no peace. I am not only doing something that I shouldnt be doing, but I am keeping someone else for doing what they are to be doing. God is permitting me to do this and he can work in that. However, I am not in His perfect will and in his permissive will. I figure this out, and start doing the work that GOD wants me to do and has equipped me to do. Now there is peace and more fruit. I have moved from Gods permissive will to Gods perfect will and can now rest in the full blessing of God. There is peace and contentment where there was none prior.

Gods Perfect Will for All People (Repent and Believe) John 6:40
40

For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. John 6:40

The FULLNESS of Gods Blessing can never be found in the PERMISSIVE WILL OF GOD.

Be Obedient to the Word of God (Luke 11:28) (1Sam.15:22-23)

28

But he said, Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it! Luke 11:28

And Samuel said, Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. 1 Sam 15:22
