Abstract In this paper, Defining Key Terms, Abortion, a descriptive paper, writer explains the meaning of abortion and tries to raise the voice against it. This Defining key terms paper is based mostly on the morality but also have discussed some points on human rights. This paper is basically an argumentative paper based on abortion, termination of the pregnancy, describes what abortion is? and the writers view points about abortion.

Abortion In general, when we hear or read the word abortion, we simply understand it is the termination of the pregnancy. Abortion is the intentional termination of a pregnancy after conception. It allows women to put an end to their pregnancies, but involves killing the undeveloped embryo or fetus. Dr. Maisie (n.d.) states that Abortion can be defined as pregnancy termination accidentally as in a miscarriage or by choice(para 1). The abortion debate seems like an irresolvable conflict of rights: the right of women to control their own bodies or the right of children to be born. If we think in terms of human DNA, it is scientific fact that human life begins at conception. The biblical evidence points to the same momentum. If human life begins at conception, then abortion is murder at any point during pregnancy. Abortions after that defined point would be considered murder. If we truly believe that the unborn are fully human, then we should treat them as we would any other of our fellow humans. Because of political implications and an overall lack of objectivity, it is unlikely that this debate will go away any time soon. Abortion is a very serious act and no one ever is benefited with it. Fetus is actually a living creature and it has the right to live too. Abortion simply kills the fetus which is equivalent to murder. This should not be morally accepted except for the exceptions. In the case of rape and sexual harassment, the situation has to be overlooked and the victim should be allowed to abortion. The hurdles not only political; we felt physically vulnerable, as rape statistics rose and women's bodies were exploited in advertising and entertainment. The external world's disparagement of our abilities was compounded by the extra cruelty that our bodies were at risk as well, from violence without and invasion within. For an unplanned pregnancy felt like an

invader, an evil alien bent on colonizing one's body and destroying one's plans. The first right must be to keep one's body safe, private, and healthy; without that, all other rights are meaningless. As I just focused on moral viewpoints for the abortion, we should also look for other factors too. Here, some thinks the rights of the person also play an important part to take the decision. As Nair (2010) says One of the moral arguments for abortion that is put forward is that it is completely the woman's right to have control over her body. If she is the one who undergoes all the stress inducing factors that comes with pregnancy, then it should be her right alone to decide whether or not she wants to go through with the pregnancy or not. Not allowing her to do so is a violation of her most basic rights (para 3). Here I do not support Nair on what she says. If someone do not want baby and want abortion, why do not they think of it before. There are lots of preventive measures which can control unwanted pregnancies. I admit that abortion is wrong. Life should be valued from the very beginning. However I would also like to admit there are exceptions in cases of abortion too. These exceptions do not justify the immorality of abortion but they do make abortion acceptable to some level. Some of the exceptions are child abuse and molestation, rape, medical risks (Jadhav, 2010). Pregnancy that has occurred due to rape and other sexual harassments is one of the exceptions. In this case, abortion should be allowed just to protect the girl from mental and physical exploitation. Another exception is if the mothers life is in danger because of the pregnancy then in this case also abortion should be allowed. Hence abortion should be allowed by overlooking the case. But it should not be legalized because killing is a murder whether the baby is born or unborn. Is abortion a murder? Elroy (n.d.) answered it's not. On the contrary, abortion is an absolutely moral choice for any woman wishing to control her body (para 25).

Hopefully people will wake up and see that abortion truly is murder. The opposition usually contests that women have the right to terminate their pregnancy whenever they want. Now I was taught that one could not have a right that conflicts with the rights of others, therefore the claim that women have such a right is irrelevant. Most uninformed people think that the majority of abortions are performed because the woman's life is in danger, well that is not fact. To make it simple, they are just irresponsible, they are murders and will have to live with that for the rest of their lives.
