President and Chief Operating Officer, Budd Financial Corporation 19851994 President and Chief Operating Officer of $500 Million (assets) truck trailer and commercial leasing, rental and financing subsidiary with full bottom-line management responsibility. Managed 200 employees in headquarters office and in 9 truck trailer rental/sales and refrigerated ocean shipping container rental/sales branch locations. Implemented turnaround of an operation losing in excess of $10 Million per year into solid profitability. Maintained excellent banking relationships with lenders in administration of an $80 million commercial paper borrowing facility. Conducted extensive customer debt repayment and litigation workout negotiations. Personally negotiated and directed the successful divestitures of the trailer rental and refrigerated ocean shipping containers divisions. Vice President-Administration & Chief Financial Officer, The Budd Company Wheel & Brake Division 19891992 (Contemporaneous with serving as President of Budd Financial Corporation) Chief Administrative Officer and Chief Financial Officer of $300 Million (sales) division which manufactured wheels and wheel-end components for passenger cars and trucks at three plant locations. Directed staff of 20 employees responsible for the Purchasing, Accounting, Acquisition Planning, Cost Estimating, Data Processing, Strategic Planning, Forecasting and Production Control functions, with broad exposure to all other areas of a manufacturing operation as second-in-charge of division. Position created in 1989 to effectuate turnaround in performance of administrative functions and eliminated in 1992 upon completion of task.
