1 GENERAL INFORMATION
Comba Digital Microwave System allows transmission links to be established rapidly and easily to meet a variety of transmission needs, brings cost savings and helps rapid network rollout. This solution comprises of: antenna, outdoor unit and indoor unit. The IP radio system is an IP transmission solution designed to seamlessly incorporate radio links into wide range of infrastructures, working across a variety of frequencies from 7GHz to 23GHz and meeting carrier-grade standards for reliability, quality and environmental compliance. FOS employs a design that does not distinguish between the type of data to be transported, and provides native support for both Ethernet and TDM data over the same radio link, without resulting degradation of either type of traffic. Two variants of FOS are available: one is FOS 160Mbps, another one is FOS 300Mbps. This documentation covers the installation and maintenance of FOS, and is supposed to read with the conjunction of Comba 0.3m_0.6m Antenna QI 1-0-0 / Comba 1.2m Antenna QI 1-0-0.

COMMISSIONING
The system can be configured only after the link has been aligned through the CIT interface for local commissioning and the NMS port for remote control. The local commissioning via CIT must be performed on both sides of the link. This section focuses on the local commissioning via the CIT wireless connection, please refer to the separate NMS manual for ML-FOS NMS.

MAINTENANCE
After equipment commissioning, no maintenance by hand is needed. After NMS commissioning, monitoring centre can control the operation status of all the equipments in the whole network. Regular inspection is recommended to ensure system performance. Periodically check for proper connection and tightening of all cables and mounting fixtures. Make sure that the FOS has not been taken apart or otherwise tampered with. Recommend cleaning the surface of the equipment regularly to remove dust, for ensuring the normal operation and prolonging the useful life of the equipment. Make sure that the FOS is properly grounded as described in the previous sections. The installation location for FOS should be well ventilated. The FOS has no internal serviceable parts. If a hardware fault occurs in either of these units the faulty unit, it must be replaced with a working one. Antenna systems should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel to verify proper installation, maintenance, and the condition of equipment. Comba disclaims any liability or responsibility for the results of improper or unsafe installation practices.
