0.7 SAFETY NOTICES AND ADMONISHMENTS

This document contains safety notices in accordance with appropriate standards. In the interests of conformity with the territory standards for the country concerned, the equivalent territorial admonishments are also shown. Any installation, adjustment, maintenance and repair of the equipment must only be carried out by trained, authorized personnel. At all times, personnel must comply with any safety notices and instructions. Specific hazards are indicated by symbol labels on or near the affected parts of the equipment. The labels conform to international standards, are triangular in shape, and are colored black on a yellow background. An informative text label may accompany the symbol label. Hazard labelling is supplemented by safety notices in the appropriate equipment manual. These notices contain additional information on the nature of the hazard and may also specify precautions. Warning: These draw the attention of personnel to hazards which may cause death or injury to the operator or others. Examples of use are cases of high voltage, laser emission, toxic substances, point of high temperature, etc. Alert: These draw the attention of personnel to hazards which may cause damage to the equipment. An example of use is the case of static electricity hazard. Caution notices may also be used in the handbook to draw attention to matters that do not constitute a risk of causing damage to the equipment but where there is a possibility of seriously impairing its performance, e.g. by mishandling or gross maladjustment. Warnings and Cautions within the main text do not incorporate labels and may be in shortened form.

1 GENERAL INFORMATION
Comba Digital Microwave System allows transmission links to be established rapidly and easily to meet a variety of transmission needs, brings cost savings and helps rapid network rollout. This solution comprises of: antenna, outdoor unit and indoor unit. The IP radio system is an IP transmission solution designed to seamlessly incorporate radio links into wide range of infrastructures, working across a variety of frequencies from 7GHz to 23GHz and meeting carrier-grade standards for reliability, quality and environmental compliance. FOS employs a design that does not distinguish between the type of data to be transported, and provides native support for both Ethernet and TDM data over the same radio link, without resulting degradation of either type of traffic. Two variants of FOS are available: one is FOS 160Mbps, another one is FOS 300Mbps. This documentation covers the installation and maintenance of FOS, and is supposed to read with the conjunction of Comba 0.3m_0.6m Antenna QI 1-0-0 / Comba 1.2m Antenna QI 1-0-0.

FOS CABLE CONNECTION

4.3.1 GROUNDING THE FOS

The FOS should be properly grounded before connecting any other cables to it. A ground terminal located on the FOS is used for grounding. This ground terminal must be electrically connected to the tower mounted with antenna.

4.3.2 CONNECTING THE PAYLOAD CABLE

Table below is a description of payload cable. Payload Cable Description Payload cable with waterproof cover in one end, the cable is available in length of 20m, 50m and 100m. Payload cable with waterproof cover in both ends used for FOS cascade connection, 20m in length. Cable Connection The end with the waterproof cover goes to the interface OPT1 (IN/OUT), the other end without the waterproof connect to the third party. One end goes to the interface OPT1 (IN/OUT) of one FOS, another end connect to the FOS used for cascade transmission.

MAINTENANCE

After equipment commissioning, no maintenance by hand is needed. After NMS commissioning, monitoring centre can control the operation status of all the equipments in the whole network. Regular inspection is recommended to ensure system performance. Periodically check for proper connection and tightening of all cables and mounting fixtures. Make sure that the FOS has not been taken apart or otherwise tampered with. Recommend cleaning the surface of the equipment regularly to remove dust, for ensuring the normal operation and prolonging the useful life of the equipment. Make sure that the FOS is properly grounded as described in the previous sections. The installation location for FOS should be well ventilated. The FOS has no internal serviceable parts. If a hardware fault occurs in either of these units the faulty unit, it must be replaced with a working one. Antenna systems should be inspected once a year by qualified personnel to verify proper installation, maintenance, and the condition of equipment. Comba disclaims any liability or responsibility for the results of improper or unsafe installation practices.
